Can you identify these locations?

I think the 8F is heading north and just about to enter Tebay station.

The second and third vehicles are of interest; they're part of a small batch of BR Vanfits, built to Diagram 1/214 with one pair of end-doors and no side doors, and dedicated to empty can traffic from Metal Box Carlisle to a number of creameries around the Lake District and the Solway Firth. I think this is the first time I've seen a photo of one in traffic.

The NBL is at Glasgow Queen Street, probably just arrived from Dundee.

I thought that was an early WR hydraulic.

It just shows how wrong you can be.

That's a Class 29 Peter - easily identified by the two tone livery and centre head code (except 6123 which had discs)

Not to be confused with a Class 22 which has either discs

or split box head codes

Anything with a Class 29 is most likely to be Scotland. The 29s were re-engined Class 21s which all had disc head codes

The cabs are identical - hence your confusion I guess - but the 21s/29s are longer, have different grilles and ride on commonwealth bogies, all reflections of the fact that they are diesel electrics rather than hydraulics

Agreed with Brian, a very rare shot.   They also appear to have roof ventilators.

I have now noticed the glass end screen which can only be Queen Street.

Should have looked closer.
