Weathered and back together.

I think the coaches are really nice models, the detail is great, especially with all the pipework and fittings on the end.

I'm hoping they look the part, hanging off the back of 'Glorious Devon' !!

Cheers,

Phil.

Hi Phil....the photo of the BSO in the sunshine....Wow...a real eye for weathering detail...love the buffers..(oh er missus!)

Did you spot the push bike in the BSO ??

Gave them a run last night, coupled with the 'bar' couplings.

They ran for at least an hour with absolutely no issues.

I would say that the tail-light is quite dim at scale speeds on DC control, and it didn't seem massively bright on DCC either, but I'd rather it be like that than be so bright you could see it from the moon !!

Think these have gone to the top of my favourite passenger rake list. :D

Cheers,

Phil.

Over the last week I've been re-numbering and weathering half a dozen vans.

Nothing too exciting, but they've been sat in a box awaiting their turn on the workbench for long enough.

Plus, my Son won't run them while they're 'too clean' !

Just, a dirty wash in the door-shuts and handle recesses (and a bit of staining below the handles), Matt varnish all over, then 'frame dirt' and 'roof dirt' to finish off.

Cheers,

Phil.

When I took the vans back to Dads to put on the layout, I told my Son to 'pick something for me to do next'.

He duly came downstairs with 2 stock boxes containing 17 NSE coaches !!

Over the last week or so he's painted the table tops and added passengers.

Guess I better get on with the rest of the work !

Cheers,

Phil.

Work has progressed on the coaches.

They've been renumbered where required.

One of the BFK's has had the Dark Blue repainted with Light Blue.

They've been varnished and weathered.

All while I forgot to take any pics !!

Will take some tomorrow, when the Roof Dirt has dried !!

In the meantime, here's a pic of a display cabinet at Dad's that's normally full of loco's.

I wonder how long it will take him to notice the contents have changed ??!! :P

Cheers,

Phil.

While my lad seems to have taken over 'dismembering plastic people' duties, I figured I'd keep him busy !!

So a couple of fairly straightforward weathering and populating jobs are next.

I know the Thumper should have a centre car, and I will eventually get around to building one, but for now it'll do as a 2-car set !!

Cheers,

Phil.

SOUTHERN?????????

Are you unwell?

I know, I know.......:P

Always had a soft spot for Thumpers, maybe it's something to do with the power plant.:D

The 4TC gives my 33/1's something to do. (& I'm happy to help KMRC produce the more 'unusual' stuff that might just suit my retro era & area !! ;) )

Cheers,

Phil.

Progress so far (In order)-

Passengers installed (thanks Son!)

Grey wash added to door-shuts (& the cable housings on the cab ends of the 4TC)

Matt varnish added to all chassis', roof's & bodysides.

Final weathering next.

Cheers,

Phil.
