Andrew P
At long last a start has been made on the Track to Trewenn. It will come from behind Warleggans and onto the Embankment with a Stream passing below. And past the Pub, (maybe not that one) then over Masons Lane. And onto the main board. Passing over a Level Crossing. With the White Cottage on the Right. And the Terraced Cottages to the Front. At the back will be the Low Relief Trewenn Dairies. The Platform will have a nice curve in it. With the Goods Yard at the front. With a short Head shunt behind the cottages. The exit towards Wenford Bridge will not be as planned as I don't have room for a building to the back of the Track so it will be all Trees and Hedgerow. Looking down the length of the Layout. There will be Fields either side of the approach to Trewenn. THE DISTANCE FROM THE LEVEL CROSSING TO THE COTTAGE AT THIS END IS JUST 6FT. EDIT = the buildings such as the Signal Box will be changed for the Highley one that is still in its box in the cupboard.
Allegheny1600
The Platform will have a nice curve in it. The Branch idea 010.JPG Oh Wow Andy, That is going to be just delicious!! (If such a term can be applied to a model railway!) I love it already! John.
RMweb Premium Ray H Posted November 17, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 17, 2015 Flipping heck Andy, I go away for a few days and by the time I got back and started playing catch up on the various posts whilst I was away I find that you've started work on the branch and I'm sure that at your current rate you'll be further advanced than I am with Virney Junction in the space of a few hours! It really does look good and should help to disguise the roundy-roundy part of the rest of the layout. I shall follow progress with interest (as I do with all your threads) and use the desire to do so as an excuse for not pressing on with mine
Brian D
Stone me, Andy. By the time I've wired up a couple of point motors, you're off and running again You really are prolific when it comes to layout building - if you're ever in the neighbourhood mate, I could do with a bit of help Seriously, this will be a stunning addition to the main circuit and will provide a fantastic range of operational possibilities. Good luck with the build but take it easy my friend. Best Regards, Brian.
Andy R
Andy -agree with others observations. You are making nice progress and I enjoy following this thread. Your regular progress puts me to shame as I keep getting diverted from Hawkinsfield Junction. regards, Andy R
georgeT
Very nice Bodge, coming together really nicely, will have to come down for a play soon..by the way l love those trees..
Marcus 37
Looking good already Andy. It's good that you've put the buildings and the trees out as it helps create the scene. I did the same with PDW as I find it gives you a bit of boost to crack on rather than just looking at a plan base board. Already it looks like the idyllic branch line terminus. Great work mate. Cheers Marcus
Andrew P
Cheers to all you guys above for your nice comments and support, nothing new to update with today as I've been out and busy for the last couple of days. That's not to say that I haven't been thinking of ideas etc. I hope to do some more tomorrow and over the weekend, the plan is to get the tacks around to the Level Crossing laid by Friday pm and then I can concentrate on laying the Station over the weekend and doing some testing. Thanks also to all the people who pressed the like button, Cheers Guys.

RMweb Gold ChrisN Posted November 19, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 19, 2015 Andy, Looking good. I really like the way that the lines go so close to the cottage, they don't want to open a window at the wrong time.

Andrew P
I've done a little more today and made a start on the Embankment over the Stream and Road. I started off with some test ideas. and then when happy I fitted the Road, the plinth for the Pub and the the high land to the left of the Stream for a steep embankment down to the Rocky Stream. Andrew P
Although the Road in the pic above looks VERY steep, and it is, but it wont be seen as it will be hidden by Bushes and Trees along the top of the Embankment.

Andrew P
A little more work on the Embankment this morning before I pick Mum up for Lunch today, and then I should get the Lines as far as the Level Crossing done this evening. Then hopefully I can start to do the Station area over the weekend and have something running and tested. Again like Pencarne I will do a Month or so of final testing before painting and finally ballasting to ensure I have no issues with the track alignment, or operationally making sure the uncoupling magnets etc. are in the right place. RMweb Premium Bogie Posted November 20, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 20, 2015 I am guessing you were cloned some years ago and there are literally dozens of Andies (is that the correct plural) working on your layouts 24/7. I spend weeks thinking about adding features only to discard them before any attempt at implementation. You on the other hand seem to instinctively know what you want and how to achieve it almost overnight. A rare skill to be admired. Just WOW!
Jock67B
Afternoon Andy, I've beaten Al at finding this late, even though I look in on Pencarne daily, I missed the link to Trewenn - unbelievable! One of my favourite parts of the country as you know, having lived down there for a few years in the seventies (although further West than Helland a bit!). All I can say is that it looks like a fantastic project, and I've now got another daily visit to schedule! Well done mate, apologies for taking so long to catch on, but I'm really looking forward to progress on this. Kind regards, Jock.
