Jintyman
Black 5 and Jinty now sound fitted and undergoing a little test on Talyllyn. Some touching up and then some detailed weathering on both locos next. The Jinty has already been glazed with 0.5mm PETG which I've been able to buy in A3 sheets for a good price, and it is just about as near to glass as I've ever seen of a plastic. If you'd noticed the Black 5 and the Jinty had little jumps over the trackwork, I checked the back to backs on both and found they were all about 0.75mm too wide. I knew it wasn't the track as all the other locos run faultlessly over it. I will try and close the wheelsets up if I can. Jinty
Andrew P
Excellent mate, the passing Station really adds to the operation.
Mike Boucher
Not a lot Andy!!! I've been altering the Balck 5 and finishing the San Cheng Jinty with sound and I've been fiddling around with a Heljan OBA wagon for a customer. Also had a nice visit from Coachman today, whilst he had a go with the Minerva Panniers and the Jinty. So here is the OBA, numbered 110102 with Railtec transfers. A Railfreight example which has been in service for a while now and has needed some attention with a few new planks here and there. It's also acquired a late Bauxite door at some point and someone retained the Railfreight coloured strappings. Here are a few pictures: WB 175.jpg WB 176.jpg WB 177.jpg WB 178.jpg It just requires a wafting over lightly with some road dirt around the bottom half and some black in places with the airbrush, and some mixed powders inside the body. Hopefully I've moved it on from the standard Heljan somewhat. There are also two R/F VAA's just about ready to come off the production line, hopefully by Tuesday. Too late for videos this evening, I want a break!!!!! Jinty This forum really needs a "WOW" button for work like that. "Like" or "Craftsmanship" just don't seem sufficient. P.C.M
Love the weathering on the class 08 and Wagons Jinty. I noticed the OAA opens have been given OBA codes. As far as I know OBAs where different in that the ends where higher on the OBAs. Cheers Peter.
Focalplane
Excellent mate, the passing Station really adds to the operation. Yes, I agree, I m hoping Penmaenpool will offer the same operating interest (without tunnel). As an Apple user I watched the video mirrored onto my Apple TV driven TV. using Airplay Both video and sound really came out well. Thanks! Jintyman
Something else across the WB. A Heljan class 25/1, as seen previously having had the yellow ends correctly repainted down to the bottom of the ends, rather than stopping short by the white line. It's now been fitted with a Zimo MX696 decoder loaded with a Paul Chetter class 25 sound project. Switchable tail lights, cab lights and headcode lights. I've made a start on the weathering, next is a gentle blow over with the airbrush to tone everything down. I'll do a video once it's been finished, be a change from Tractors!! coachmann
I disliked the damned things in the steam-era but they sounded rather nostalgic by the 1970's. Looking forward to your vid.
Jintyman
So here is the Heljan class 25/1 finished!!! I've gone over the body and roof with various washes and wiped and streaked them accordingly. Then I've picked out some details with various colours of wash and again wiped/streaked them. Once I was satisfied I went over the whole locomotive with a few colours to tone everything down so it wasn't so stark as in the picture in my previous post. I then removed the Maskol off the cab windows and added some fuel staining/leaking and some grease and grime. Here are a few pictures....................................... I'm going to hopefully do a video of this loco tomorrow evening. Jinty

Jintyman
Well here is the last item out of Jinty's Workbench before Christmas. A San Cheng Black 5, numbered 44665 in BR lined black livery with late crest. I've fitted a Zimo sound decoder with two speakers, one in the tender and one in the boiler. The decoder and related gubbins is situated inside the tender and two miniature multi-plugs are fitted between the loco and the tender. I've duly just finished weathering this loco, picking out detail where I can, showing a rusty surface to the tender tank filler area and wet over the top due to some careless filling!!! She's in a good serviceable condition with elements of rust only in neglected areas, just road dirt build up around the loco. Here are a few pictures: Jinty
