RMweb Gold MarshLane Posted March 1, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 1, 2017 Hi Andy, Like what your doing with the two OO Gauge layouts, have you decided that OO gauge is more your cup of tea than O .. or is Beale Street just on the backburner with having your local club layout to exercise the loco wheels Hope we're still going to see your talents in the bigger scale. Andrew P
Hi Andy, Like what your doing with the two OO Gauge layouts, have you decided that OO gauge is more your cup of tea than O .. or is Beale Street just on the backburner with having your local club layout to exercise the loco wheels Hope we're still going to see your talents in the bigger scale. Rich Hi Rich, Thanks, Beale St is on the Backburner at the moment, I have the 2 X OO Projects that I want to get to the running stage, although Kingsford already is running, there's a lot more testing to do on that before fitting the Point Motors etc. St Budoc and the last incarnation of Trebudoc were my best in O Gauge, and I know I won't better Trebudoc for looks and interest, but I still have the 8ft board to do something on one day, but yes, as you say, I have the 2 Club Layout if I want to just have a running session a couple of times a week. Andrew P
With work TEMPORARILY suspended on Beale St whilst I concentrate on Trewithen and Kingsford, I've decided to sell the two Paul Chetter ProtoDrive Sound fitted 08's. The Black one has a Bass Reflex Speaker and the Green one a Jintyman big round Bass Speaker. SOLD Both are Boxed and mint apart from the top rear light on the Black one is missing, this is on order from DCC Supplies. If anyone is interested please PM me. Beale St WILL be built, or at least re-started very soon. Edited March 27, 2017 by Andrew P
Andrew P
Work on BS is suspended due to lack of room in the Old Potting Shed at the moment, so I still need to sell some last bits, they reluctantly include. The Ixion Hudswell Clarke, which is DCC Chip fitted. The Minerva Peckett again DCC Chip fitted. And the Dapol Paul Chetter Protodrive Sound fitted 08 in Black, the rear Lamp has now been fitted, (see post above)

coachmann
Oh dear, another Gauge 0 hit the dust. It was all the rage around December. I'm still trying to sell some of my stuff and at low prices just to recover funds, so I dont know how the sillyprice - crapmodels wheeler-dealers in 7mm find their customers. My gut feeling is 7mm RTR is a bubble. Edited April 18, 2017 by coachmann
Focalplane
Yes, the bubble probably exists with RTR though the range continues to expand. Is space the problem? When you spend weeks building a 7mm loco kit the space problem tends to disappear. An interesting conumbrum. What is going to happen when my Large Prairie is delivered? Should I cancel now? Brian D
I've always thought that the best place for O gauge is in the garden - "O gauge in the garden" always had a ring to it and if I won the lottery that's what I'd do (no room in our current postage stamp of a garden so not only a move up from OO to O but also to a somewhat larger property) Apologies Andy for high jacking your thread with my puerile comment. Regards, Brian.
coachmann
What is going to happen when my Large Prairie is delivered? Should I cancel now? I think you will have a good 'un there. I was going to buy one along with the Mogul as the mainstay of Llangollen services. These two are non starters in 00 gauge.

coachmann
I'm down to two brass locos and one coach kit. Are we the only two to back down from Gauge 0?
Andrew P
I'm down to two brass locos and one coach kit. Are we the only two to back down from Gauge 0? No Larry, we'r not, there is another person that I know of, who, like us, was bitten, smitten and then realised it wasn't for us.

birdseyecircus
Shame to see it all go Andy. I use to enjoy your updates. I have gone the other way! 80+ locos and units in oo gauge stood idle since before Christmas. I am enjoying the slower pace of 7mm! Paul
brossard
No regrets here. I'm having a great time. Plenty of space in the tent for everyone I reckon. I shall keep an eye on you Andy. John
