Sorry Charlie, I don't think that's one of EFEs - It's far too clean for a start and doesn't look like it's covered in effluent!

How long for the 142?  Are we looking at this year?

We are working on this with all the livery drawings arriving, please bear in mind our Class 156 (now arrived) was 9 months later than planned, so please bear with us.

 

The Secons running sample is awaited, but again delayed for some reason !!!!

fyi…

 

it was 1130 days between August 11th 1968 for the fifteen guinea special,  and September 15th 1971 and 6000 King George V’s test run to Newport.

 

Its 780 days between May 29th 2021 and TFW retiring 143601/143609 and 142003s run to Crewe.

 

but for Northern its 960 days since November 27th 2020 and todays run.

 

For many of us its 1212 days since Boris ordered lockdown and was last time many got to ride a pacer.
 

 

The clocks now running on the first railtour..

Awaiting a production slot, the factories currently are ver bust with the UK market place, worth waiting for though.

Other manufacturers have the same issues too!!!

One assumes that since EFE Rail are currently flooding the market with Class 143 and 144 Pacers that the Realtrack 142 is being held, to let the market calm down a bit.

 

in 2016 the project was announced,

in 2021the first CAD was said to have been completed,

in March 2022 revised CAD was said to have been completed,

October 2022 we saw the first EPs, 

 

As yet we have not seen any finalised EP's, nor any Deco samples.

 

Maybe Charlie could let us know if its deco samples being waited on now?

upon type testing for 333 EMU on nights on the Aire valley triangle train was full of test engineers from Germany all looking into there laptops and monitoring equipment  doing brake test parameters I was the test coordinator for the ToC during a brief layover at likely for a brew i convinced the siemens lads we needed to do a crush test simulation in toilet cubical and one by one fitted ten germen engineers in to toilet the train leasing manager and chief siemens chap where in hysterics !! if only i had filmed it

 

so two train spotters locked in a 142 or 10 germens locked in a train toilet will all end up page 4 of the Sun
