It's not just the layouts that are finescale; so's the grub.

Fine local fare from our traditional butcher available on the day:

Sausage rolls

Staffordshire pasties

Chicken, bacon and leek pasties.

QC tested this evening with high satisfaction scores all round.

We're simple folk; if that doesn't fit your lunchtime needs, bring your own.

Will there be carrots and frozen peas for the vegetarian?

I wouldn't start in Coventry.

I thought that was somewhere you were sent to, not started from...

I have a dilemma:

Churnet Valley Railway beer festival or this train thingy......

Visit the beer festival first thing and then bring some over to Gnosall.

Everybody is happy.

Beer festival is Friday, Saturday and Sunday.... Do both

Andy

I'm supposed camping there both Fri and Sat, but it's further from there to Gnosall than it is from Home to Gnosall. So perhaps I should go to Gnosall first off and then set up camp at CVR Saturday afternoon......

And I have a £1 off voucher for the show......

The burden of first world problems :(

I feel your pain.  The Black lion, a beer, steam trains, the sun (?)  and canal boats is one of the most perfect places in my world.

For anyone who is EM or P4-curious our show on Saturday would be a good opportunity to have a closer look at what is involved in a move to the either 18.2 or 18.83 gauge.

Fryers Lane, for example, will be stocked entirely with ready to run stock and I'll happily talk anyone who will listen through the pros and cons of converting various proprietary items to either EM or P4.

I'll also be there demonstrating how easy it is to replace AJ couplings with the more reliable Kadees....

Mark has suggested I start on Friars Lane.

(before anyone gets too excited about a Kadee demo this is just in jest. I do however find myself in the unexpected position of being able to attend the show)

Yes, that's correct, because I'll be too busy operating FRYERS Lane :)

Providing we can get through the iron curtain that separates Shrophire and Staffordshire.

The border guards are somewhat lax these days after cutbacks and depleted morale; Gnosall's primary defence on the west is now two pensioners with a hairdryer loaned by the Community Speedwatch group on the A518.
