lapford34102
A few bedraggled people in small inflatable possibly. Stu Ok, Ok! Off to naughty step for a couple of days. Festive wotsits to one and all.
bigherb
. The factory was BIG. There was a red and yellow "Tri-ang" sign on the side of the factory immediately next to the West Croydon to Wimbledon line. . It was big, but it ran alonside the Wimbledon/Tooting Merton Abbey line. rob D2
I just hope it’s not like last year , when they rolled out.........the R625 signal box from 1970..... The day went with a whimper not a bang if I recall correctly .
2750Papyrus
Airfix used to make a model of those hovercraft and Hornby has taken over Airfix. I remember the hovercraft going across the channel from Dover but they went out of business following the abolition of duty free wine. Could be back soon, then!
2750Papyrus
I see where you're coming from, Jason, but Binns Road is the ancestral home of Wrenn! Weren't Wrenn from Basildon? The original TOWIE?

sandwich station
The relevance was Pegwell Bay and the former terminal. I did go in search of the D-day diorama in the visitor centre but it's no longer there; I will be in Normandy on the 6th June though. The last time I saw the Pegwell Bay Terminal, it was being used as a go cart track.
sandwich station
Weren't Wrenn from Basildon? The original TOWIE? Some of the Wrenn bodies were cast down at Sandwich Industrial Estate. I can't remember who by though (might have been when it was Triang Wrenn, not just Wrenn).
sandwich station
Catalogues, let's be honest, are a thing of the past; once the main marketing tool of the company they are replaced by the Internet and no longer really relevant. After the amount of complaints they got in 2016, they went back to producing a catalogue and even considered producing a full size 2016 posthumously. sandwich station
The move back to Margate is an obvious example, but one backed up by some sensible costings. This is the best news I have heard in a long time. Should never have left.

RMweb Premium Legend Posted December 25, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 25, 2018 2016 remake catalogue, sadly never happened Frankly as they all look pretty much the same these days , it was possibly felt 2016 would have looked too much like the 2017 one . I’m hoping for a completely revamped one for 2019
chris45lsw
Sorry but the Lines Factory was right next to the Wimbledon - Tooting Line. I can remember seeing a van in their private siding and going to their Staff Christmas parties. Dave To be precise it was by the line (goods only since 1929) from Merton Park (on the Wimbledon - W. Croydon line) to Tooting Goods. Chris KT

sandwich station
A gratuitous scenic snap of Sandwich to the right and Margate behind me yesterday morning after a trip to the ancestral home of Hornby, Westwood House, at Margate to see Hornby's plans for 2019. Should be called Dusk over Sandwich seeing they have left there and that is a sunset.
RMweb Gold adb968008 Posted December 26, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 26, 2018 How to get to the Lines Bros factory... https://www.brightontoymuseum.co.uk/w/images/How_To_Get_To_Our_Works_(TriangCat_1937).jpg (Apologies I too said it was along tramlink, I dont know why, as I know full well it isnt). You will today find it today on the junction of A24 and A219, near South Wimbledon, where a tramstop may at some point be located. Whilst most buildings have gone, many TV adverts are made in this park at the studios, as was “The Bill” filmed here. It is home to the UK office of Accurascale though. Phil Parker
Should be called Dusk over Sandwich seeing they have left there and that is a sunset. Huh? It wasn't Sandwich, and that photo was taken at breakfast time. Apart from that - spot on.
RAF96
Don’t see too many sunsets over the sea on the east coast of England (as opposed to the UK). Hunstanton in Norfolk is one of the few. Rob Edited December 26, 2018 by RAFHAAA96
