RMweb Gold Happy Hippo Posted March 1, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 1, 2020 Nice work with the fencing Julian. I've done a bit of fencing on my own layout, and am currently working up to do some more, but I'm using copper wire instead. The wire comes from multi-core cable, and was laboriously stripped back to leave single strands. I've found that the thinner the strands, they are easier to tension as the copper doesn't need to be tightened up to much to get everything looking straight. Here's what it looks like prior to tensioning:
Baggies1961
Hi Hippo, Thank you, Yours looks good too. Yes I agree the thicker it is the harder it is to tension it.

Not a fixed date, but we're all talking about the week before or in the two weeks after Easter, so I'll be starting to box the Locos as late as possible, as between other jobs, it gives me some down time to chill out and un wind.

Baggies1961
Couldn't resist adding a small stream to the layout. I’v never modelled water before so its my first attempt.
Baggies1961
The bank has yet to have the static grass applied, that will be done once the aqua magic has dried. This can take between 24-36 hours. I might add another coat too for some depth.

Baggies1961
I just love it when my six year old Granddaughter comes to visit as she always asks to have a go with my trains. Hopefully soon she will be able to explain to me all the functions on the NCE Power Cab.
Baggies1961
Covered the bare area in front of the new stream with grass. Unfortunately due to a senior moment I forgot to turn the static grass applicator on wondering why the grass did not stand up on the last application. Doh! 2
Andrew P
Put a sock / tights, (which ever is your preference) over a hoover nozzle, that will work and you'll have some grass to re use as well.
Baggies1961
Thanks Andy, yes seen that on the tube have removed as much as I could and applied a shorter length grass.
