Further to this and by way of illustrating the flexibility of the trial sample I have bent this in two places with absolutely no ill effects / cracking to it.

Perhaps you should have used it to build your double slip.

Just sayin'

Right then.....

Bridge now put safely to one side ( thank you John !!! :mocking_mini: ) I have re-commenced the Signal Box for the 7mm layout.

I've enjoyed doing this today and suddenly remembered the original scratch built version  ( photograph 3 ) which was never completed, mostly using my Silhouette Cutter. I found it whilst looking for some materials to carry on with the new build, hey ho!

And as mentioned put side by side the one which decided to hide from me ......

Ah, so it looks rubbery because it is rubbery. Not a bad thing. Thanks Grahame.

As roads go, that is a little steep though. Looks like something an LMS engineer would have designed :crazy_mini:

Apologies if these updates are boring but it helps for my records, windows added, window rail added requires painting and slating commenced which actually highlights a couple which haven't stuck down on the bottom row so it is useful to photograph each stage for my own sanity !

What a difference the windows make. They really are the defining features of a signal box.

This is definitely more than a "smattering". Not that I mind! (rubs hands).

Looks a tad uncomfortable when stuffed down ones whites as one is facing their fast bowler. :scratchhead:

The box now has a name, a prelude to the proposed 7mm layout.

Before anyone asks, it is fictitious, mainly due to that old chestnut of space constraints but there is a semi-believable back history, more of which to come eventually.

And with the S & T Plates fixed

I initially considered ordering some etched plates but, as I have a Silhouette Cutter I thought I would push its limits slightly and am pleased that I did.

All the lettering has been cut from 10thou plasticard with a little bit of trial and error ( only one failed letter ) this is what was produced.

What depth do you put the blade to cut 10thou sheet?

I have problems cutting 5thou right through with the cutter.

Hi mate,

I set the blade to 10 and two passes, no problems thankfully......living on the edge eh !

Take care,

With rain forecast I thought it was wise to scratch build a few gutters and downpipes this afternoon......

A basic interior has been added now, whilst it's something that should possibly modelled i am not one for adding lighting generally to my models. It is only a representation before closing the walls and unless lit it can't really be seen hence my decision.

I'm with you on lighting Grahame.

Anyway, as far as the interior goes you'll know it's there.

At the risk of getting boring I have now completed enough of the interior so its time to close the box up.

And a shot of the mock interlocking frame underneath it all, no real detail but it gives an impression hopefully ?
