Baggies1961
A slight school boy error in cutting out the entry/exit point. Theres millimetres to spare on the headroom for the shunters. Roof has been tiled, glazing and door fitted. Wondering if a chimney should go in?
Baggies1961
Fitted the ‘lid’ on the platform shed along with the shutter and sliding doors. Guttering to do delivery not arrived as yet from modelu. I attempted a faded white wash effect on it. Little office needs guttering too. Big store roof needs a trim!
Baggies1961
Boxing Day working on bring the ground up to track level. Over the outer sleepers I’m using Das Clay, never used it before so will see what its like. Remaining half to stick cork down then use the clay.
Baggies1961
Completed the clay in fill this morning. Placed buildings in situ for effect. Painting of back board and cork/clay next.
Baggies1961
Very quickly used the Green Scenes textured concrete on the fill in between the track to see what it looked like. Placed the 05 on the track and a wagon again for effect, I now need to increase the gap to allow for the wheels to run freely.

Baggies1961
Thanks Paul, lots to do to keep me motivated not sure I like the textured concrete effect so will see if they do a smooth or normal paint. Having Grandchildren during day during the holidays wears me out and on the night I’m goosed! Not sure if there is a standard gap used where check rails should be beginning to think I should have put one in.
Baggies1961
Used acrylic mix of black and grey to paint over the cork last night quite a difference between that and the concrete paint. The dark line is just a shadow.

Baggies1961
Order arrived from Station Road Baseboards for the traverser runners today so set about altering the fiddle yard board. Iv ordered another short runner to night so will have to wait until that one arrives as the centre runner is to long. Another couple of snaps of the cork painted its first undercoat. Also ordered a couple more figures from modelu just being painted. Half round Gutters arrived too the other day, but I forgot to order bends and square guttering so awaiting that as well.
RMweb Premium Ray H Posted December 31, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 31, 2020 We cut notches in the baseboard frame so that the sliders could extend forward. Is that an option?
Baggies1961
Hi Ray, Thank you for that peach was only sat wondering how it will work this morning and I missed the patently obvious solution! Hopefully now I may get another track in Thanks once again for your help and Happy New Year. Regards Julian.

Baggies1961
Hi Dougal, 3d printing corner web site or on ebay. Not cheap but I like what they do. Come up easily on a google search.
47606odin
Perhaps you can paint the builders hi vis a yellow colour to make them different from rail workers
Baggies1961
Hi Ian, Being a safety officer for our local council whenever I visit sites to inspect where our contractors are working near Network Rail lines etc. we all have to wear full orange class 3 PPE and even blue hats.

When I was delivering tunnel segments to a railway job the other year at Haywards Heath,we started out wearing yellow Hi-viz,while on site but after a couple of weeks we had to change to orange and then also orange trousers..Having complied I then Asked The Question ...Why? the reply from the Safety Elves was" so the driver doesn't mistake you for a Green Flag(?)...... My reply to this was " really? Even when at the shaft heads all you could see of the trains were the roofs." There was no way the driver could see anyone stood on the back of the truck. Draw your own conclusions........ Edited January 10, 2021 by 34006
47606odin
Yes, I obviously am aware of the orange requirements, however you get all the platform bods in the yellow green colour, so that argument is disregarded nowadays
