Moderators Popular Post AY Mod Posted February 3, 2021 Moderators Popular Post Share Posted February 3, 2021 Following the newly-tooled Class 20/3 it was evident that the chassis and circuitry redesign would mean that earlier body types could be re-tooled with working lighting, this has been developed quietly over the last few years before being revealed now that production is all but complete. 35-351 Class 20/0 D8015 BR Green (Late Crest) £179.95 35-351SF Class 20/0 D8015 BR Green (Late Crest) £279.95 35-355 Class 20/0 20057 BR Blue £179.95 35-355SF Class 20/0 20057 BR Blue (Sound Fitted) £279.95 35-357 Class 20/0 20227 BR Railfreight (Red Stripe) £179.95 35-357SF Class 20/0 20227 BR Railfreight (Red Stripe) £279.95 17 1 1

RMweb Gold Roy Langridge Posted February 3, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 3, 2021 (edited) Not a big surprise given the 20/3. I am sure one or two will find their way into my collection, but I will have to sort out that lighting - bright white lights on a headcode 20 Edit: 20057 looks to be carrying a livery from the late 1970s. I have found photos of it with large double arrows on the cabside taken in 1977. By Oct 1982 the arrows had moved to side of the nose. AMJ
Updated 20 as per above not a surprise. Looks like they are doing like Athearn are doing with the 2.0 upgrades to locos in adding details
sulzer71
Nice but why the bright ice white LEDS? not prototypical really especially on the green one

I have slipped some yellow Kapton tape between the LED and lens which improves the look, not sure if that will be possible here - may have to resort to a Sharpie. In the photos above, the cab light at least looks warm white / yellow. Roy

Roy Yeah it does , think I shall stick to fitting lighting from stickswipe on ebay to my current 20's , at least with those I can specify the led colour

RMweb Gold franciswilliamwebb Posted February 3, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 3, 2021 Great to see the gentler cantrail curve has migrated from the DRS version. The sharper crease of the original tooling was my least favourite part!

RMweb Gold BMacdermott Posted February 3, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 3, 2021 Hello everyone Congratulations to Bachmann on this one - we put the loco into the The 2019 00 Wishlist Poll as it was then within our cut-off date of 2005 for inclusion (having been originally released in 2004). It was very High Polling. Brian (on behalf of The 00 Poll Team) 5

G-BOAF
Does 20227 not have a High Intensity headlight on the nose end? Or is this a pre-production mockup? 1
Global
Do we know whether Bachmann has managed to improve the lighting functionality at all on their recent releases? I’m thinking independently controlled markers (where they’ve fitted them!), tail lights etc.

WhiteRoseRambler
A good choice from Bachmann. Sorry if I have missed the details but do we know if the sound fitted version will have a V5 chip?
