I had the same problem with a couple of US diesels with digitrax decoders. To get round it I cleared the consist from my NCE, reset the decoders to factory separately, altered the direction in one of the locos, programmed it with it's address. Removed that from the track then put the other on, programmed the address then both on the track and added to a new consist.
