Now of course we are in the main Bingley Hall and no threat of snow in September.

I actually miss the rain and snow a bit. There's something primevally satisfying about arriving at a cold, bleak, muddy showground in the depths of winter but then walking into a warm, friendly, welcoming exhibition hall full of like-minded people and the comforting buzz of activity. It's not quite the same when you don't need a 4x4 to be sure you can get out of the car park, or a heavy overcoat to avoid frostbite in between your car and the door. 🙂

Then again, maybe I'm just weird.

No you’re not weird I understand what you mean.

I hate to think what the energy costs would be now should we have kept our original February date.

The energy costs both for lighting and heating are not included in the hall hire costs and as I recall back in 2020 were in excess of £2500

So put you’re wellies and heavy coat away.

See you in September.

A new trader added today is Crane Garden Buildings who are able to build you a bespoke building for your model railway.

They are based at Trentham Gardens but I believe they operate throughout the UK

It seems that I missed  Bewdley when I uploaded the list of layouts for our 2023 Exhibition.

A great layout definitely not worth missing when you come to the Stafford Exhibition in September

Morning all

I have just had my digital copy of BRM and can now confirm that the Stafford Railway Circle layout Whiteacres will be in the next issue of BRM (available on 7th September)

Having seen the photographs taken by Andy York it really do justice to all the work that has been done on the layout since it’s last outing at the Hornby Exhibition in Milton Keynes last year (Winning the best layout as voted by the general public)

I hope to be able update you with information about a replacement layout soon.

I have received a telephone call about facilities for disabled visitors…….

All toilets are situated on the ground floor area

There will be a car parking area for disabled visitors.

The exhibition is mainly all on the ground floor

The cafe is on the second floor which is accessed by stairs or a lift for those who struggle with stairs.

No the “slopey” will not  be used……

We are aiming and planning that all exhibits this year will on one  floor.

This means we will be using all three of the annexes, making access to all of the exhibition area easier for all.

The cafe will be upstairs accessed by stairs or the llft.

David Wright has  added a further model at the Stafford Exhibition in September

Like most I was saddened and devastated to see the total destruction of such a unique Public House. Being a keen model maker and lover of our heritage buildings especially pubs! I thought I must try and recreate this well known landmark. If the pub never rises again ' like a phoenix from the ashes' for real. At least I can make 'The Crooked House' rise again in miniature at the Stafford Model Railway Exhibition.
