Silver Link is leaving for Grantham, an image which conveniently shows how Peter has since straightened that leaning wall.

Up onto Crescent Bridge we go now, to get this view of Great Eastern.

 

 

Wait patiently, the A1 leaves, and an Immingham B1 brings in the 6.45 KX-Cleethorpes.

I like the Crescent bridge viewpoint. We don't see photos from this angle very often.

Wait a couple of minutes more, and the 4F hauled 8.15 from East to Leicester appears.

Very difficult in winter with low sun, but it does get a bit easier this time of year. Still more background glare than I'd wish, and I have to brighten these more than I'd like, but I shall persevere.

 

I'm hoping that changing the overhead lights to LEDs may be a game changer, but we shall see.

A lovely bright morning, and what better to start it than a look at an A4 under the roof?

The first trains of the Saturday sequence have run, but pleased don't get excited, as at current rates of progress it will be a fortnight before you see any pictures.What I will do though is show you the formation of that Dundee train.

 

 

First class accomodation at the front, then several seconds, and towards the back we find that our posh first class passengers have to walk all the way down the train and through a BSK to get to the Restaurant car. Can anyone suggest why a train would be set up like that?

Would the Gresley RF be detached on route. Say at York or further North? And subsequently rostered for a different service heading south. Or judged as not required?

Correct. Now that I've read the CWN properly I find that it was attached at Edinburgh.

Attached at Edinburgh with SO and brake, so presumably it was easier to just tack them on at the back. I must learn to read things properly.

Fish under the roof, certainly, but not so many people to be assaulted by the smell at this time of evening, probably.

 

 

Fish was followed by more coal, with a 9F running Class F on the new timimgs designed to get a crew to and from Ferme Park within an eight hour shift. It looks like it will have the main line as even the distant is off.

I did say probably. The ones who aren't there but were earlier must have been in places which are now hidden by the train.

Not one but two Immingham B1s, the clean one on the second New Clee fish, and the other on the 8.57 to Grimsby.

 

 

At Platform 6, a March K1 has brought parcels up from East.

Seagull now runs through with another FO Tyneside express, passing the fish as it goes.

Getting things done early today, as I am off to Little Bytham soon. This morning features KX A3 Hermit.

 

 

 

 

At the moment, I can't remember which service this was, and I don't have time to find out. An "unidentified extra" it will have to be.
