Porcy Mane
The Royal Border Bridge, Berwick-upon-Tweed Needs a loco on it. Preferably a pacific trailing an exhaust to match the clouds. P
RMweb Gold martin_wynne Posted January 4, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 4, 2015 Needs a loco on it. I disagree. Without a train it is a picture of a bridge. With a train it becomes a picture of a train. Martin.
Porcy Mane
I disagree. Without a train it is a picture of a bridge. With a train it becomes a picture of a train. Your prerogative of course. The fact we all have varying viewpoints makes the world far more interesting. With a tiny loco against that magnificent big sky it would make me think how insignificant we and all our views are, in the bigger picture of things. Nice pic though... P (And it then would be a picture of a loco on a viaduct?)

Peter Kazmierczak
Though the bridge the train is passing over looks rather inconsequential, it's actually the M25. A Victoria - Brighton service heads south into the low winter sun.
Peter Kazmierczak
An N-gauge Class 442 disappears into the fiddle yard after another lap around the layout. Alternatively it might be a northbound Gatwick Express entering Quarry Tunnel.

Turbo_Tim
One advantage of having to work between Christmas and New Year - time at Paddington when I noticed a sunburst coming through the roof. RMweb Premium Ian Smeeton Posted January 12, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 12, 2015 In a scene that could be from 50 years ago, if it wasn't for the mk2 coach in the background, 45305 arrives at a very cold Haworth station on 27th December 2014. 45305 Haworth 27122014 B&W RMWeb.jpg Seeing as the first Mark 2's came in in ' 64, it still COULD be 50 years ago! Peter Kazmierczak
No snow where I live at the moment. However looking through some old slides produced this from December 1982; a suitably seasonal snowy scene on the Midland Mainline.
Peter Kazmierczak
A dull day at Toton in 1984, as the only named Class 46 (46026) drops down from the High Level Goods Lines with a northbound parcels train. The Down Yard Control Tower is in the background. This is the period when PW workers wore their normal work trousers, but had orange visibility tops on.

Peter Kazmierczak
Clay Mills signalbox (near Burton). Long gone now. Note the sturdy stand for the train register and the NUR calendar on the wall.
