I ordered the komatsu excavator and GSM-R mast from here http://modernimagemodels.co.uk/index.html a fellow rmweber. Ive read the instructions on how to proceed and it seems straight forward; any other suggestions? Wont be able to do any work on them as im only home 2 days and one of those, tomorrow, ia taken up with us going to see the Transiberian Orchestra. Gloucester Road Posted November 23, 2014 Author Share Posted November 23, 2014 Been an interesting week here in NH; as I said in my last post we went off to see TSO, it was brilliant! The bit after not so much. I was driving my MINI with my son with me when I was cut off and then the person who cut me off slammed on the brakes. Needless to say we had a colision with me travelling 40mph and not even having time to touch the brakes. We and the occupants of the other vehicle are ok, but my son was taken to hospital. So the end result is two very sore and stiff folks from my car and one MiNi that is a mess. It did what it was supposed to and crumpled in all the right spots. So ive been off work due to the meds, and dealing with insurance, drs, and repair shops. So ive not felt much like modeling. Any who. Looking at some Google images there seems to a conection between the tower and building, an antenna and wire coming down the mast; so theses were added. There seems to be a varied array of structures and bits and bobs that can go on these buildings so i just took a few to personalize mine. Then using tamiya paints colour was added; white for the antenna themselves, flat aluminium for the base and tower and flat deck grey for the container. Weathered with black powders, rust and paint chips. Then again using pictures some warning placards were added; they were at the base weirdly. Here we are Now to work on placing it in a scene. A good landing is one you walk away from a great one is where you can re-use the plane Think it's the season for it, short days and everyone rushing around like mad, had two incidents yesterday on the bike, one someone changed lanes into me on the motorway and the other changed lanes across me exiting a roundabout - I stopped with 2 inch spare... Gloucester Road Posted November 25, 2014 Author Share Posted November 25, 2014 The area behind the wall on the upper level on the Gloucester Road shed board had never been finished as you couldnt see it.However my thought was to place the GSm-R mast in this area so it needed finishing off. Static grass, ground cover, bushes and other ground cover were added; a small track for service vehicles was fitted too Now to look start on the excavator. Muse and Pink Floyd for listening pleasure boys playing with the O scale train and Gloucester Road MKI; so out come my paints. Tamiya flat black, yellow green, flat aluminium and flat brown, some black thread pulled apart to the single strand. All this, powders and burnt sieenna were then applied to my excavator. This was the image I was working from This is what we ended up with. Pleased with it as it a close representation of the photo. Might attack a Scalescenes hotel later today. Gloucester Road Posted December 9, 2014 Author Share Posted December 9, 2014 (edited) As promised I have been working on what has now turned into a Hospital; ive run out of card stock which has left the walls rather unfinished. Clearly the same company was hired to construct this building as the similarities to Barclays Bank are striking. However the execs at the bank might want to have the firm doing the construction come over and fix the parapets as they seemed to have sagged and warped! Whilst heading to the craft shop I passed 70006 which was parked up in the throat for the container termianal. Gloucester Road Posted December 11, 2014 Author Share Posted December 11, 2014 As I cant get to the craft store due to freezing rain had a go at detailing Milford sand rock and Cement with a PCA loading/off loading facility. The inspiration came from many different sources, but the primary influence was Horseblock which can be found here on RMweb. I used styrene to assemble pipes, and yellow barriers, thread was used for hoses to attach to the PCAs themselves. I've three rows of houses that have been going for some time, but just can't seem to finish them. So thumbing through a 2010 Model Rail I came across a small n scale micro layout. My thoughts cast back to one of own small layout. It was called new street but am open to suggestions. Whilst shunting I was looking at the right hand side and thinking about disguises for entrance. Road bridge came to mind and as I'd done the scalescene one twice before I had answered my original quandary. So one low relief road bridge has been stated. No it doesnt join up with the layout, it is more of a diorama that moves. There is a small home made cassette system that joins up on the 2 tracks so you can equipment on and off the diorama. Gloucester Road Posted January 11, 2015 Author Share Posted January 11, 2015 Well Happy New Year to all, been awhile since ive posted anything. Work, flying the wealthy, is busy this time of year. As are family commitments There was a colour theme to this years presents; shades of blue. So one can probably guess what they were. First up Malcolm Logistics now run a service through Gloucester Road with a stop in the container terminal. I managed to catch it running south through Crosslands, and Gloucester Road Nice model, will need to weather loco (lightly) and wagons but that is down the road a bit. Hopefully they solved what ever crime they were investigating. Due to the kittens antics i was up early this morning and managed to catch some train action 66610 was seen ticking over at Milford sand and cement while 08921 was busy shunting silver bullets to make up the train. Gloucester Road Posted January 21, 2015 Author Share Posted January 21, 2015 While driving home a little earlier I decided to swing by Gloucester Road TMD and see if the rumored new arrival had shown up. I initially tried the front entrance but was unable to see it, so I drove round to the back fence, I had to sneak up to the fence through the trees and was rewarded with a nice shot of 37409. Gloucester Road Posted January 25, 2015 Author Share Posted January 25, 2015 Flew some folks into KBKL which is Cleveland Lakefront airport, needless to say snowy and cold. However upon opening my curtains this morning I was rewarded with this view. The airport, electrified tram line and three diverging into four Norfolk Southern mainline freight tracks. It is a busy line, the lines in the botom left are east west lines the single ive not seen used yet but appears to go into a yard, then there is the double track passenger line and small station. It is very busy with NS double and quad headed container and oil/petroleum and loooong coal trains.
