TV meteorologists are breathlessly talking about the possibility of snow - most likely on Sunday and perhaps around 3" on the valley floor. Weather is supposed to turn colder and dryer by the end of Monday. Sunday's NFL game in Seattle might be snowy. That will be a change.

 

 

Watching the Packers at home playing in the snow was always interesting sitting in a villa in Saudi...

Green bay being somewhat chillier than Seattle.. must be a real shock to the southern teams..

We were up at 6 this morning to check some of the overnight sales, but there was nothing that 30747 wanted.  She has been after a certain piece by Swarovski for two or more years - and it has never gone into the sale - same again this year - at least this year she did not ask me to get the computer fired up at midnight.

 

Enough of the moaning - I will not be having my pill that is contra indicated with alcohol today, and didn't last night, so that I can at least have a lunchtime small(ish) glass of the 18yo Talisker which I got as a Christmas present.

Been up since 7 with the boys Kieran has gone back to bed Lucas is setting up his new laptop. I am looking what to spend the xmas gronkits on sadly nothing N gauge this year maybe a mitre saw stand though.

I did drop the tablet last night and shatter the screen Turdycurses to quote a certain bear.its still usable though.

Morning all and a Happy Christmas from Estuary-Land. Overslept this morning so the omelette has been put back to tomorrows lunch. Its so long since I made an omelette that I had to search out some of the implements such as the whisk. I also prepare the mix in a large glass jug, makes easier to pour into the pan than from a bowl. If I have any I might add some herbs to the mix as well.

As it predates the Romans perhaps it should be in a more ancient language but Google translate doesn't do Celtic so this is in Welsh.

Surprisingly if you slowly look at the Latin, you can work out roughly what it says, with no understanding of the language.. it shows the influence of Latin on the English language.. the Welsh no chance...

 

 

 

Ben has been walked, he met his girlfriend, the rescue doggy from up the road. Sadly she's not yet been with them long enough to be left off the lead. So as yet they can't be let off to play.

 

We took the full route, the direction being into wind in the shelter, back to the wind out in the open.. 

 

Clear skies to the east, cloudy to the west..

 

Though the full walk doesn't seem to have tired him out, he's playing football at the moment.

Aditi has a cousin who is in a hospital in Newcastle waiting for a heart transplant. Hs wife mentioned he liked books (paper not on Kindle). So we ordered one for him, got Amazon to send it to a nice  volunteer in Newcastle who gets stuff for the long term patients and she sends it in for them. Many patients are a long way from their families and Covid adds extra difficulties. For instance Aditi’s cousin lives in Uxbridge but Newcastle was the nearest available specialist place. He had just sent us a WhatsApp greeting saying how much he likes the book.

Best wishes and season's greetings to everyone, but not in Latin, Ancient Greek, Cymraeg, Gàidhlig, Aramaic, Romanz, Sumerian or Ugaritic, since many of these languages were in use before the invention of Christmas, and wouldn't have words for the season.

And really hope the ChrisF sojourn is all that he hoped it would be.
