RMweb Premium Popular Post New Haven Neil Posted February 3, 2022 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted February 3, 2022 Morning. Finally got on, took a while but once here it seems to be working reasonably OK. Unlike last night, when I gave up after getting site maps and no graphics time after time. A sunny, windy 9c here, with no orders of the day posted. Andrew, we do care..... Breakfast has been broken, some washing and housework beckons if I can't find an excuse to do otherwise. 8 1

RMweb Gold Tony_S Posted February 3, 2022 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 3, 2022 Morning all. I intend to do more storage platform building in the loft today. Not too much as I am not sure how long my back and knees will last today. Some of the old chipboard could be reused but rather than risk tatty bits failing I tried to order some more. None available for online orders from anyone round here but Wickes had an OSB equivalent. It is only for loft storage of stuff that isn’t heavy so will be fine. I can walk about in my Loftleg and chipboard construction so it should be able to cope with the items I intend to return to the loft. We had a holiday booked for this July (postponed many times since 2020) but Aditi has transferred the booking to July 2023. 2
RMweb Gold Popular Post grandadbob Posted February 3, 2022 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted February 3, 2022 Just had an eventful hour. Sitting at Nicki's chatting to her, (she's feeling a bit better now,) when the phone rang. It was The Boss in a right state and in tears. She slipped and fell at the top of the stairs (luckily going up) and smashed her face on the wall. Claret everywhere. Sod's Law it happened when I didn't have my car but borrowed Nicki's to get back here rapidly. Quite a bad nosebleed now stopped and I've got her sat down with a cuppa. She's quite shaken up but seems OK apart from that. Blood has been cleaned from wall, carpet, bathroom floor and sink. Clothes and towel now in soak before a wash. And breathe....

Aditi and another language group member tried really hard to get their group treasurer to permit subscription payments by direct bank transfer during the first lockdown. The treasurer was reluctant to publicise the account number and sort code in case of “fraud”. She certainly wasn’t going to permit any online access to the account. Aditi knows the account and sort code anyway as she had received cheques from the society. RMweb Premium Popular Post BSW01 Posted February 3, 2022 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted February 3, 2022 Good morning everyone I didn’t have any problems logging on this morning (or last night) but the main contents page is a little jerky and I have to be careful when selecting the page I want to read, as occasionally I’ve got the wrong one! Pah! Anyway, back to today, this afternoon Charlie is calling round to spend the afternoon in the workshop with me, so some modelling will take place. This morning, I’m off to the big orange DIY shed for some more painters caulk and a few other items that I need. Consequently, not a lot will get done in the cellar today, but a rest won’t do me any harm. Back later. Brian 20
RMweb Gold Popular Post Tony_S Posted February 3, 2022 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted February 3, 2022 With Ben the collie’s and Mrs GDB’s stair events this morning I shall be very careful today. After getting out of the loft a couple of days ago I was sitting on the landing recovering from all the exertion looking at various cuts and thinking I needed to go and have a shower when Aditi gave me a drink which I spilled. A blood, sweat and tea incident. At least Bob was able to respond quickly and provide help. Aditi once phoned me to say a big tin she had flicked off a high shelf with a fish slice had hit her in the face and she was bruised and had some bleeding. She sent a photo too. I asked what was I supposed to do. I wasn’t being horrible, she was in Benfleet and I was in Houston. She just wanted reassurance the damage wasn’t going to be permanent! 1

Folk have been handing out slips of paper with their bank details on since the 17th century - or 4th century BC in India, I read. 16

Popular Post Grizz
Afternoon All…well it is here anyway, if only just. After making loads of progress shifting the felled trees yesterday, and thank the gods that I did, I am paying for it today. To start with woke at 5 with a banging headache, but which fortunately is now just starting to disappear. So I took a look outside and this is how it looked. 6c (but feels like 3c) and raining (heavy dense drizzle), not good for COPD. Now forecast all day, so irritatingly it is NOT going to be a day to be in the middle of nowhere, by myself, using a chainsaw and shifting heavy wet and slippery trees. If Grizz was in a forest and shouted for help and no one heard him…would that mean that he really didn’t need help??? So using a dynamic risk assessment I’ve decided that I am going to stay inside and enjoy this… and this on the telly….. John Mills, Rene Ray and Robert Newton…in The Green Cockatoo.. Whilst relaxing and doing some of this… Continuing to build 10 JRAs and 3 RILS…. Have a good one all. For some reason, lingchi just occurred to me as an analogy... Now unwinding with this... I looked at the same osb board in our local Wickes and I have decided to use that for mine although it comes out at £17ish compared to the £14ish of chipboard its lighter and according to the sheet of paper tgat was in the pack it can hold more weight even though its 3mm thinner 11 2
Popular Post The Lurker
Greetings all from a grey LBG. 3rd day of 3 working in the office this week. There are quite a few people in today. Someone even suggested a lunchtime beer which I had to turn down as I have a call with the auditors later and need to be on my game. Younger Lurker is doing a presentation at school this evening in connection with a charity fun run he did a few weeks ago. This will be a big challenge for him particularly, but he was chosen by his teacher for what he wrote and the way he read it out> hopefully it goes well. We get to see it as well. It involves quite a lot of to-ing and fro-ing after school. Have a good day all 17
Popular Post simontaylor484
Her ladyship has now decided she wants new bathroom accessories such as towel ring and toilet roll holders and the like. We were in Ikea last week and never mentioned it and we were in B&Q the other day no mention pah. Looks like more expense and jobs to do not that my list keeps growing as it is. We (Me and Lucas) put the jobs for the weekend on his whiteboard and take great pleasure in rubbing them out Sunday teatime only trouble is that by Monday it starts to fill up again. 3

For instance their footy scores are written like this Carlton 15 12 102 Geelong 12 8 80 That has to be wrong. Carlton NEVER win Collingwood never win either but at least Carlton fans have more than one tooth! St. Kilda, on the other hand, celebrate a spike in the local birth rate nine months after every win In Melbourne, as in a few other areas, you support (or barrack for in the local vernacular) the team in whose area you were born and raised. Carlton fans in the inner north-west, Collingwood in the inner north-east with the demarcation line approximately north-south along Lygon Street. St. Kilda fans in the Bayside suburbs. If you think their numbering system is weird you should see how they signal their trains One of few signalling systems in the world where you may run through a red light at line speed. Though it has to have a green one above it for you to do that! It takes two reds to stop you because ..... well ..... one is not enough. There are plenty of aspects including a red above or below another colour but only "reds" means "stop". . simontaylor484
I had heard the ad on the radio for the Volvo dealer offer on puncture repair and windscreen chip repair being a Volvo owner. I would be a bit apprehensive taking my 65plate XC60 for fear of it becoming a way of trapping you in to having to spend a lot of Gronkits There is no such think as a free lunch after all Or is it that I'm tighter than a ducks ar5e 13

RMweb Premium Popular Post Gwiwer Posted February 3, 2022 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted February 3, 2022 Ooooh yeeeessss. My delivery has arrived. Direct from a tiny 15th Century stone outbuilding behind the Blue Anchor pub in Helston which has arguably the longest unbroken history of brewing its own ales in the UK. Not the everyday “Middle” either but the potent “Special” at 6.6% ABV. Puts hairs on your chest, this stuff. Which may be why I have a few I shall enjoy one of these later. I’ll be back dreckly for more. 20

I can see this new rule causing a few (more) mishaps around here. The road (cul-de-sac) on which Bear Towers is located is renowned for numnuts parking right on the junction, just as you turn into the road; this can make it somewhat "iffy" at times and care is needed - I'm always concerned that some bozo may hit the Bearmobile up the ar5e as I turn in. I did think of reporting the problem - but knowing my luck those bozo's would end up parking further up the road and blocking Bear's driveway. In other news.... A morning of squirting filler. RMweb Premium 45156 Posted February 3, 2022 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 3, 2022 (edited) Afternoon All, Caloo Calay - at long last, my mortgage offer has been corrected and issued for the fourth time - the one we got last evening still had a major error how the hell can a major lender get the address of the property that they are taking as security wrong? Now to print it - or not as my printer is playing up again - seems to happen every time I get a major windows update - luckily my tame guru will attend later this after. Now then, what's all this - site SEEMS to be working better - I got a 522 error this morning, and when I logged back in a bit later, it seemed to be quite a bit better than it has been of late. Due to the problems and the use of the laptop for the serious business of trying to get the move back on track, much skipping has happened, so all I can offer is generic greetings. Rick, I always thought that the Blue Anchor used to produce to three OGs - 1070, 1060, and 1050 - equating to 7%,6% and 5% - but that was MANY years ago while I was a single lad (ie more than 43 years ago). Checking their brews now, they have certainly tamed them a little. Regards to All Stewart Edited February 3, 2022 by 45156
