RMweb Gold Popular Post grandadbob Posted October 6, 2023 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted October 6, 2023 (edited) Good morning all, Cloudy start but there is a hint of something bright trying to make an appearance. It should be a dry, fine and warm day with light south westerly winds. 14°C at the moment. might hit 22°C. Much aching all over today. Spent about two and a half hours painting The Shed yesterday morning and The Shoulder then called time but the two ends are now done. Will hopefully attack the back of it today, shouldn't take too long as that's the most sheltered from the elements so the timber won't suck in as much gunk. After lunch I entered said building and muddled about for a bit. Hope to do the same today. First task though after breakfast is to amble to Asda and hopefully that will loosen me up enough to do the aforementioned painting. Timetogettamoveon. Have a good one, Bob. RMweb Premium Popular Post BSW01 Posted October 6, 2023 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted October 6, 2023 Good morning everyone Another wet start to the day here in the northwest corner of England, the overnight rain may have stopped, but it’s very wet out there. However, as it’s a Friday, it’s my day off! So, first I’ll take a walk to the butchers for the weekly meat rations, then it’ll be a trip to the Trafford Centre for a few more bits and pieces, then back home for a muggertea. After dinner, we have our Covid shots, so we’ll do a little shopping before hand, birthday and Christmas cards etc. We sure know how to live it up here don’t we? Back later. RMweb Premium Popular Post PhilJ W Posted October 6, 2023 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted October 6, 2023 Morning all from Estuary-Land. I've got to organise my covid and flu jabs today. I have two separate lists, one of places doing the covid jabs and one of places doing the flu jabs. But there's no list of places doing both so I will have to check both lists to find where I can have both done at the same time. More housework to be done before that though.

Some more work on the DPU - very pleased with how the bogie fix has turned out, though the buffer housing fix has been less successful; you'd have to know there has been a problem to spot it though as it really "wants looking for" - it has several splits along it's length and gluing was a long shot. Stage 1 Danglin' has also been completed without incident, as has giving the brass door handle a polish up. Tick awarded. BG 17 1
RMweb Gold Popular Post grandadbob Posted October 6, 2023 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted October 6, 2023 (edited) Many Happy Returns to Warren. @BoD I seem to be a bit slow getting started. Slow shower, slow breakfast, slow walk to Asda, mind you The Boss was with me so that held me back! 😂 Slow going round Asda as well as we bumped into Tim from over the road so had a natter with him. I did accidentally brush against a cake shelf and a pack of Lemon Bakewell tarts fell into the basket. The Boss noticed but apart from a "Hrrrmph" let it go. Now having a muggacoffee and then A-painting I will go. Edited October 6, 2023 by grandadbob 19 1
RMweb Premium Popular Post Dave Hunt Posted October 6, 2023 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted October 6, 2023 So far I haven’t done much today apart from drinking coffee and reading and apart from gong to the pharmacy to collect medications for Jill and for me I have the rest of the day to myself too. I wonder which workshop I will spend some time in? And tonight is chippy tea time so all on all not a bad day in prospect. Happy birthday to Warren , have a good one. RMweb Gold Popular Post DaveF Posted October 6, 2023 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted October 6, 2023 (edited) I had to go out after breakfast, hence the very late post. Last night's sleep was poor, I woke before 4, I know I had some more sleep later on as I had a dream about putting letters on the top of a submarine which then dived and took the letters to the sorting office. I've no idea what caused that dream, it was really weird! When I woke in the night I was feeling very sad and upset about something which happened at church yesterday where someone replaced the big wafer for communion with a piece of cardboard. I didn't do it and the churchwarden who put the tray of communion things ready a few days earlier didn't do it so we are very puzzled. Obviously the vicar was not best pleased. Recently there have been a couple of instances where things seem to have been interfered with. It makes me feel I might be happier just being a member of the congregation. This morning I have done the usual house things and been to church to talk to the churchwarden and drop some things off for the food bank which I forgot yesterday. I've also had a walk along the Links and had another go at getting the dash display as I want it on the car. I think that this time I've got it right, having found another button I can press. Dave Unless you were being humorous, the above is a bit unlikely as ursusagalmatophilia means (basically) being turned on by Teddy Bears (the cuddly soft-toy type) - although people have been arrested for “professing their love for teddy” a bit too ardently in a public space. But as a general thrust (no pun intended) you are quite right: many paraphilias are extremely illegal (and often repugnant as well) and many of the “legal” ones carry significant risk of bodily injury (like Climacophilia) 8
