I don't mind being beaten. I don't even mind being beaten 6-0. What I do mind is being beaten 6-0 with an almost total lack of intent and commitment from the players and even more so from the manager.

I watched both those heavy defeats and I cannot recall, at any point, Allardyce getting off the bench and trying to pass any instruction or to inspire his team.

Weak, insipid, spineless.

Taxi for Sam? I'll drive him myself.

Give him the job at Old Trafford. At the current rate Moyes, won't be there for long!

I feel pretty sure that the team talk included something along the lines of "never mind  the cup, it's the league that counts" on both occasions.

It might explain why there were such lacklustre displays from some of the players, who were all probably anxious to avoid picking up either injuries or bookings.

I think Blackpool are going for some kind of record - the most defeats without sacking the manager. The last nine games have been lost eight, drawn one. Leeds fans must be wondering where they went wrong to only get one point. Have to sign off, I am stumped for words now.

I don't know about the papers that you read but I'm sure that the end of the world or outbreak of WWIII would create less fuss than the fact that Man U are having a (for them) mediocre season. It's all becoming rather tiresome.

Cardiff City 0 v West Ham Utd. 2

.

The footballing equivalent of two bald men fighting over a comb.

.

Obviously West Ham neede the comb more than we did

.

The honeymoon is over Mr Solskjaer

.

Brian

wouldn't have expected Alf Garnett to get the comb off Gareth Thomas, would you?

Thought Malky was a gentleman on match of the day just now when asked to comment on both the game and Cardiff City as a whole..

After paying to  endure something that contravened the 'sale of goods act' (i.e. advertised as Premier League Football) I couldn't bring myself to watch it again on MoTD - did some modelling instead !

Malky Mackay's OK - but word is he's not 'whiter than white' when it came to his departure from Cardiff City.

i know its a plaigerisation but it sums up the fun of supporting a small club

If you can remain Latics Blue when all about you
Are fleeing and turning red or City blue
If you can keep the faith when others doubt you
And make allowances for them ridiculing you
If you can cheer and not be tired by cheering
Or sing, don't give way to silence
Or being doubted don't give way to doubt
Or freeze, don't give way to freezing
And yet don't spend too much, nor chat too wise:
If you can dream - and not make the Prem your master;
If you can think - and not make cupsets your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by forums to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the team you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build it up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one seat on the board,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never get to elect someone else from t'trust;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your club long after TTA are gone,
And so clear t'pitch when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Game on!'

If you can talk with moaners and keep your virtue,
' Or walk with the execs - nor lose the common touch,
If neither Rocky nor Chaddy end can hurt you,
If all fans count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving game
With ninety minutes worth of having fun;
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Oldham fan my son!

Now lost nine out of ten, with one draw. Does anybody know what is the longest run without a win? Must be heading towards that now.

In 2007-8 Derby only won one game all season being the 6th match against Newcastle. I don't know how the following season started but 32 games remained that season alone although they did win a FA cup tie in January on penalties!

Wot, no mention so far of Chelsea's win yesterday?

"You wanted his job," mocked travelling Reds at Mourinho, who acknowledged the ditty with a wave. A growing number are beginning to wish his application had been successful. "We want you to stay," begged Blues of Moyes as his plight deepened. Beating United was hugely enjoyable for them, even in their rival's reduced circumstances.
