Hi Nigel

We're looking forward to be coming again.

This year folks we're bringing Damian's model of Diesels in the Duchy - a 3'7"x12' layout based on the area around St Blazey shed. (Thread link in my Signature)

We're hoping to meet some of the locals who have been very helpful providing information and photos etc.

See you soon.

We are packing up today ready for the drive down to the far west.

Should be a cracking weekend with three 2mm layouts in attendance - my Highbury, John birkett-Smith's Ashburton and John Greenwood's Wenford Bridge - amongst a host of other attractions.

Why is it that there's always something that you can't find the day before departure

That at least gives you all night to find it :nono: ....... and more important, at least you KNOW somethings missing...

See you there, BTW down here today the weather is :sungum:

which is just right for packing up the layout in the attic by myself,

after doing the test runs etc., this morning (at least it all works today!!)

'cause my little helpers don't travel down from Wales till tommorrow pm....

PS - One of the lads in the village had some friends pop down from Brynmawr last weekend, they rang him to say :-

'we're well on the way, will be with you soon, get the beer opened'.

'where are you then?' ask's my friend,

' Exeter Services' they say,

'Oh, your not half way here yet!' (Time more likely than distance - 120 miles).

3 hours later they roll into the village with various Welsh expressions relating to a long way or something,

the text incurred ******'s on here when I tried to write it.

Have a good time down there chaps - I had a trip in mind for this year but it's well nigh impossible (well very difficult) to fit in a sensible amount of time at the show and get home and get in some kip before getting up at 04h50 on Sunday to take my son to work. Why on earth FGW can't operate a suburban service in the London area before mid morning on a Sunday is beyond my understanding alas. :scratchhead:
