RMweb Premium Clive Mortimore Posted February 4, 2013 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 4, 2013 Or do they contain the coal removed from COND steam locos at the depot ?? No. As far as I am aware they were condemned wagons making one last journey with loco coal on-board.

Re- The photo of "Sir Gomer" at NCB Mountain Ash above, those aren't sixteen tonners, they were specially built for the NCB as end tippers only, on a variety of underframes, mainly redundant tank wagons. RMweb Gold Metr0Land Posted February 7, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 7, 2013 Last set tonight or you'll all be getting bored. This guy had the sense (and money) to take this colour seqeunce. Invaluable for modelling when you can't see the real thing any more. Note Pic2 also has stripe into corner on 1st and 3rd wagons. Pic3/Pic4 maybe the stripe is somewhere between corner and where it should be?
