Invicta
V354FMP- another Bond one- Pierce Brosnan's BMW Z8 in 'The World is Not Enough' 650UPX has got me puzzled though- and the frustrating thing is that it does ring a bell with me from somewhere.... Another one- a bit more obscure, though it's linked to one we've already had- 848CRY
Invicta
Arthur Daley. One of his earlier Jags, oddly one of his later ones (E reg I think) appeared in two shows on the same night, it being driven by Arthur in Minder and later that night by Inspector Dalgleish in one of the PD James dramas! Also the same Birmingham registered Rovers have appeared in Taggart, Touch of Frost and Midsomer Murders. I think that there is a pool of cars/vans used by production companies, the early series of The Bill had the CID's undercover unmarked green Transit van can't find the reg at the moment) which also turned up in the shortlived Rockliffe's Babies! Also Arthur Daley's pale blue sliding drivers door Mk 2 Transit Van turned up in several different series in the early to mid 1980's. I think some are sourced from specialist leasing companies, so not surprising to see the same vehicles turn up in more than one programme. They're also sometimes loaned by the manufacturers- AFAIK most of the Capris, Granadas etc in the Sweeney and the Professionals were loaned by Ford's press fleet, hence the Essex registration numbers, HK, NO etc, although to confuse matters, some did appear with false, unissued plates.... JohnDMJ
WHO 1 was a genuine privately owned car which lived not far from me here in Darkest Hampshire and loaned to the BBC for the programme! (HO was one of the old designations for Hampshire!) 650 UPX, for your information, is the get-a-way vehicle and caterers' van in The Great St Trinians Train Robbery! Driven by Reg Varney!
