Yes, an amazing coincidence -- when I posted it I didn't know it was in the news again. Just my attempt to steer the topic back on-topic -- I used to drive past it quite often and always think of this topic.

That image is actually from the 2009 Google view:

This is Terminal 2:

Like the end of speed restriction and dead end sign on the same pole.

Does that mean you can crash into the wall at the end as fast as you like? 😁

The USA is a bad example of electronic voting because of the proprietary voting machines. There are many other examples around the world where it DOES work, generally where they use off the shelf hardware and open source software which is open to scrutiny. I personally voted electronically in Australian Capital Territory elections 4 times when I lived there.

Estonia is another good example of where it works well.

The non-electronic system we've got here seems to work perfectly well, so I fail to see anything to gain by changing. If it ain't broken don't fix it.

Some background - the Canadian one-dollar coin is known as the ‘loonie’, because the reverse of the coin shows a depiction of a loon bird. (That wasn’t what was originally intended to be depicted, but that’s a whole nuther story!)

So this is the sign for a “Dollar Store” in Princeton, BC, taken today:

CROCODILES

DO NOT SWIM HERE

Reminds me of the ubiquitous

Quote

SLOW

KIDS AT PLAY

Someone installed one of these in the neighbourhood the other day, oblivious that they were advertising a concern about their developmentally challenged offspring.

Why sign manufacturers don't reverse it, I'll never know:

Quote

KIDS AT PLAY

SLOW DOWN!

What language do they read then?

Difficult to tell, as they are generally silent until they have their mouths full...

Not very polite, to say the least; couldn't possibly be English.    😋

I find they’re inclined to speed up.
