When you could have this:

Not that I'd want either btw. ;)

Edit, to remove double posting - why I know not :)

Warning - pedant mode on!

For £79.50, I would expect the sheet to be correctly roped, pin-point bearings, full brake gear, equalisation/springing, sprung buffers, screw couplings (2 links????) and the model to be in 0 scale*. Were there any LMS vehicles built with LNER style brake gear? and 13' wheelbase??? The "BAUXITE" looks grey to me as well. It appears to be a Kirk or early Parkside kit, fitted with Nucro/Jackson wheels and Smith's 3 link couplings (with a bit missing!). The sheet doesn't appear to drape properly either. (Puddles of rain water would be likely, seeing the British weather - that's why the GWR favoured sheet rails.)

Sorry for being pedantic, but the exorbitant price (£7.95 would still not be a bargain price, even allowing for postage, but all the above would be acceptable) invites it.

* The price realised by assembled kits rarely reflects the time spent in their assembly.

Pedant mode off.

The 'splatter/daub' method for 'weathering/ageing' is not confined to our hobby! The musicians on here will be amused at what I found here:  http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Squier-by-Fender-Vintage-Modified-Jaguar-Bass-/221878807878?&_trksid=p2056016.l4276  whilst looking for a particular instrument.

In the description were these words: " ...and has a rustic look to it due to the addition of spray paints to the main body," ! I'm not sure that 'rustic' is the right word here. I wouldn't want to be seen playing it anyway!

Seriously, sometimes these 'wierdo' offerings can be a bargain (if nobody buys it at this price). I'm looking for one to pull apart and rebuild with custom shop parts and electronics.

Not really madness but amusing

Those GBL boxes make excellent mirrors

Neil

I suppose better than some from the eBay hall of shame. There has been photos posted, which have included naked reflections, before now - seriously!

Hmmm, you could join the NGS, buy one from their shop and still have change out of that price.

G.

I never knew there was a Narrow Gauge Society.

(I suppose this is 4mm for 7mm scale modellers). :scratchhead:

Could it be the National Gardens Society ?  Or possibly the National Grid Service ?  Or the Nationwide Gritting Service ?

Edit (red face) :ireful:  it exists here http://www.ngrs.org/

Where do I start?!?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hornby-Virgin-Train-00-Gauge-/281802901544?hash=item419cc30828

It's not Hornby. Only 1 picture at a poor angle!

Does the auction only have 2 coaches or is it a full 4/5 car voyager or the shortened 3 car?

Price is excellent but with hardly any description and not many photos you can see why no one has bidded.

Though to be honest I brought a Bachmann Class 220 a few years ago which was a very poor listing (better than this one though) but I gambles upon it though as it has been DCC fitted and I got it for about £50 and it runs really well now!
