madness from rails. kit is for an 0-8-0 but contains a chassis for an 0-6-0. also the tender is a later ivatt one and the box shows a stirling tender. I showed interest in this as i just picked up the same kit with all the correct parts for £125 second hand they are £199 new!

additional. having further looked at it i believe the kit is actually for an Ivatt J3 0-6-0 and in the wrong box which makes it even more expensive as the j3 is a cheaper kit than the Q1

"This model is well used and in need of a good clean"

You couldn't have just dusted it off with a paintbrush? Correct me if I'm wrong but it looks like that thing is covered in cobwebs!

Weathering...  🤪

Apart from that its a pretty rough example.

Puzzling that its got a Dublo coupling on the front and a tl one on the tender!

Looks like part of one of those boxes of old junk recovered from a garage or garden shed, £20 the lot.

You would have thought that as a trader in model railways, a quick dust would be in order.

600 pounds for something that requires a 'quick fix'? Even if the seller is incapable of fixing it himself, I'm sure that even paying someone to do this 'quick fix', would be worthwhile to get a better price.

And what's with the apparent broken off piece under the cab?

And why is the Incredible Hulk cabbing it?

These questions must be asked!

I suspect that if the two gears are not "connecting", then another is missing, may be difficult to replace and its not as simple to remedy as the vendor suggests.  I may be wrong! 🙂

Quite a hefty price tag for a loco that may be bu**ered?

It could be a couple of loose screws, or a trashed gearbox.

Either way, as Paul said, it's quite a hefty price tag for a loco that may be bu**ered.

'grans-attic' - perhaps its a part of gran??

The proper picture is showing now and it’s madness for the conventional reason! Thirty pounds for a coach a few wagons and the moth eaten remains of a clockwork loco lol

A tad optimistic price wise I think and someone else using the cringeworthy AI description.

Not seen a "Lord Westwood" in years though:

'Exhaust Steam Sound' - is that the venerable, tender-mounted, piece of sandpaper and revolving scraper method? I seem to recall having an 'Albert Hall' that did that.

Do we suppose there is anything lurking within the Pug box, other than not so fresh air?

It looks like his cat got its tail in the way when he was taking its picture and knocked the camera out of his hand.

Or knocking the subject onto the floor!
