Er, the chimmney is a clue about what type of engine this is........

But all that clag has to come out somewhere...

Bonkers. This kit sold for £85.50

Maybe but there seem to be quite a few others at currently reasonable prices. So I'd wait and see if the same madness applies to them all.

I know the more subtle distinctions between different types of trains escape the average person, but this description amused me:

But if your ebay handle was "toymaker*11" you'd obviously know all about such things, now wouldn't you?

It can be bought currently from CSP for £46.25. (according to their website) It defies logic. Perhaps I should get all those brass etched coach kits from the bottom drawer and put them up!

£48.99 and it hasnt even got the right bogie fitted !!!. Prices seem to be on the up on anything Hornby LNER/BR they used to be around £25 tops , bonkers!!

Well in both of these cases they are with private listings, ie they sound dodgy. I will never bid on one of these things at all if it is private listing.

It's amazing what you can save if you shop around!

Rather funny i think. Some other things i have seen was a Bachmann Mk2 TSO (Blue and Grey) go for £30 +

All the Tri-ang stuff & Hornby stuff (soon to go up) i am putting on ebay all have a large amount of photo's included, Including some extra if any damage and so on.

P

Pricewise we would expect nothing less. Another gem from our friend in Cartmel, who seemingly can't be bothered to put up pictures when he lists. It's a poor show that they aren't there. No doubt he'll put some up later.

Surely no 'serious Triang collector' needs pictures when he's assured us it has original style couplings. Isn't that the main selling point with Nellie? :scratchhead:

Not railway-related but surely this takes the biscuit! An undated 20p coin - on tails side only! It has the date just on the heads side - as they all do. But some mug has been fooled and has already bid for it. You have to laugh ....

Looks like someone got a bargain with this job lot he sold. OK not pristine condition but at least 5 items there that could be sold on at a profit?

According to the Royal Mint there are less than 250,000 of these in circulation, and they are worth 20p. Incidentally some 20p coins do have the date on the tail rather than the head, but not this pattern.

I can't find my picture at present, but the Ulster Transport Authority did at one time in the 1960s operate an ex LMS NCC WT class 2-6-4T complete with tender on an experimental basis. Apart from the livery and having the tender copupled the other way round, it was not unlike the e bay item that "LNWR lives on" has found.

Having sold the vehicles he can now list the boxes at £50 each.

There are 2 colour pics (sorry can't copy them as they're copyright) in 'Irish Railways In Colour - A second glance 1947-1970'. By Tom Ferris, Midland Publishing ISBN 1 - 85780 - 019 -2 page 141, loco and tender both in lined black. I'd never seen anything like it until I bought the book some years ago!

I asked this seller what was different abut this coin. His reply was the single word "Hi". Draw your own conclusions.
