EBay madness

"WAS AN EXCELLENT RUNNER IN BOTH DIRECTIONS, I HAVE GONE TO TEST IT AGAIN THIS MORNING BEFORE I PACKED IT AND ITS JUST DEAD, SO SELLING AS SPARES OR REPAIR."

I wonder if the half inch of paint over everything including wheel treads and pickups has anything to do with it...?

My guess is it just committed suicide... ;)

Er...hello ?

http://www.ebay.co.u...=item564d772a3c

Didn't I have one of these with two wagons as a Hornby-Dublo set back in 1952 ? I think he used the same photo twice !!

The top picture is indeed the Trix loco as described*. The lower one is a Hornby Dublo N2 (post 1954 circa matt finish. In 1952 it would have been in prenationalisation livery (any of the the four!) and, in a set, came with a van, open wagon and brake van in matching livery. The BR livery sets had an additional tank wagon.

*Someone has replaced the original puny trailing wheels.

What is "In good ruinning condition. ?

(Spell checker suggestion for Hornby-Dublo - Horny-Dublo :jester: )

Gostude feeling the pinch? This seems a remarkably reasonable BIN price from one of our favourite sellers.

Oh there is clearly some fascination with this beast as others have appeared elsewhere for sale.

I bought one back in 196? - oh I can't remember - when they first came out and it cost a fortune probably over five shillings.

Obviously I wish I had kept it :senile:

SOoooooo generous of them to save anybody from being silly enough to buy a new one for £28.50 from the HM website LOL. Wish there was some way to warn the unsuspecting.

!964 IIRC. That would be the Dublo one. In good condition, those sell for considerably more than this, especially if you still have the box.

It came up in a search for "O gauge locomotives"...

Nah - it was 'O' Gauge but he sat on it  That explains the long shot......

I think I'll have the body warmer, please dear

Unrelated to our hobby - and in no way mad, but this item is interesting. As the proceeds are for a Swedish cancer charity, I hope the remaining few days see it go through the roof! http://www.ebay.com/...em=110959436247

This from the Nikon Rumors (sic) site.

Usain Bolt's Nikon D4 sold for $7,300 in charitable eBay auction. Nikon Nordic matched that amount and contributed it to Cancer Society and Usain Bolt's Foundation for encouragement of education in Jamaica.
