Cleefy
"WAS AN EXCELLENT RUNNER IN BOTH DIRECTIONS, I HAVE GONE TO TEST IT AGAIN THIS MORNING BEFORE I PACKED IT AND ITS JUST DEAD, SO SELLING AS SPARES OR REPAIR." I wonder if the half inch of paint over everything including wheel treads and pickups has anything to do with it...? My guess is it just committed suicide...

I think he used the same photo twice !! The top picture is indeed the Trix loco as described*. The lower one is a Hornby Dublo N2 (post 1954 circa matt finish. In 1952 it would have been in prenationalisation livery (any of the the four!) and, in a set, came with a van, open wagon and brake van in matching livery. The BR livery sets had an additional tank wagon. *Someone has replaced the original puny trailing wheels. What is "In good ruinning condition. ? RMweb Gold Metr0Land Posted October 14, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 14, 2012 Gostude feeling the pinch? This seems a remarkably reasonable BIN price from one of our favourite sellers. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Dapol-HM002-Hornby-LMS-MAROON-STOVE-R-6-WHEEL-BRAKE-VAN-COACH-32925-MIB-mv-/330794020185?_trksid=p5197.m1998&_trkparms=aid%3D222002%26algo%3DSIC.FIT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D17%26meid%3D2734256748319668293%26pid%3D100017%26prg%3D1006%26rk%3D2%26sd%3D320997309101%

I bought one back in 196? - oh I can't remember - when they first came out and it cost a fortune probably over five shillings. Obviously I wish I had kept it

Wish there was some way to warn the unsuspecting.

In good condition, those sell for considerably more than this, especially if you still have the box.
kintbury jon
Not madness, but I can see this going for a fair bit: http://www.ebay.co.u...49#ht_732wt_932 Looks really nice, surprised the pantograph has not been removed though. It is going for £460 with 15 minutes to go! Wouldn't it be cheaper to buy a unit and commision someone to spray it?
RMweb Premium John M Upton Posted October 14, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 14, 2012 If/when Bachmann announced a SWT Desiro (inevitable in my opinion) then someone and their wallet will probably be feeling somewhat suicidal...

RMweb Gold Oldddudders Posted October 17, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 17, 2012 Unrelated to our hobby - and in no way mad, but this item is interesting. As the proceeds are for a Swedish cancer charity, I hope the remaining few days see it go through the roof! http://www.ebay.com/...em=110959436247 This from the Nikon Rumors (sic) site. Usain Bolt's Nikon D4 sold for $7,300 in charitable eBay auction. Nikon Nordic matched that amount and contributed it to Cancer Society and Usain Bolt's Foundation for encouragement of education in Jamaica.
