Hi all

My flexi track and points arrived today so i managed to get a couple more hours in the loft to crack on with the scenic fiddle yard.

The track plan is not 100% yet and i am still playing around with it. I started to carve out the hillside and fill in the gaps ready to paint which is a job for the weekend.

And to finish off the days work in the loft i got the first few coats of paint onto the hillside. This was done using a few shades of grey's, black, and a few different browns in acrylic paints sprayed on using water spray bottles as it makes the colours non uniform which looks better....i just need to let it all dry over night and apply some more coats tomorrow and then repeat the day after until i am happy with how it looks then to finish it off i dry brush white paint to the edges of the rocks then i will add some grass, bushes and trees etc.

The wooden frame below will also need painting black and that will be done by hand to tidy it all up.

Thanks guy's yeah i'm well and truly in the zone right now with still so much to do but it really is getting there now. There is only a month to go until the shoot so i am working hard to get as much done as possible plus i am going on holiday for ten days in between now and then so it's all hands on deck.

The concrete bridge has now had three coats of concrete colour paint which i think is enough to cover the primer and look good too.

The road section above still needs to be done as well as the little details and weathering and it will be ready to be glued into place.

The rock face/hillside next to the scenic fiddle yard is now fully painted using lots of different shades of grey, black and browns and then i went over the edges with white. All that is needed now is the grass, bushes and trees etc but that will be done last once the mainline and stream is complete at the back as i have to lean over the layout and will end up making a mess of all the scenic work.
