Grimleygrid
Thanks David, Class60lover and Porkie. I will be glad once this part of the project is finished! I have managed to get the glazing added to the skylights that will sit above the raised roof section covering roads 13 to 15: image by AP474, on Flickr image by AP474, on Flickr Two down, two to go.......

Grimleygrid
This evening I have managed to get the glazing added to the long version of the skylights thanks to the assistance of Grimley senior, many thanks indeed. It was a two man job to get the glazing glued on so I am very grateful for the help and relieved that the skylight tops are ready to be glued to the roof sections. This has been a long job.....I am really looking forward to getting the roof finished and moving on from this part of the project. Thanks to Mr Sandside I used Vitalbond glue which worked a treat and would thoroughly recommend it. image by AP474, on Flickr image by AP474, on Flickr Now to get them glued on!

RBE
Looking good Alex. I too am a user of vitalbond. Its such good value too to the point that my last bottle lasted so long its started to turn into superglue gel!
Grimleygrid
Thanks Cav, it does make a big difference having the skylights on, even if just dry fitting. I am looking forward to getting the roof finished and moving on to getting the pits fitted permanently before installing the concrete floor. I agree about Vitalbond, really nice stuff and as you say great value as it really does last. I bought three bottles thinking that I would need lots of it for the long versions and in the end we didn’t even use half a bottle!

This afternoon the first set of skylights, the ones that sit above the lathe road, were glued on to the roof section. image by AP474, on Flickr image by AP474, on Flickr image by AP474, on Flickr Hopefully I can get the glazing added to another set of skylights this week.

Satan's Goldfish
Loving the table cloth ;-) It gives me a slight migraine every time I look at it.... Roof looks good though!
Grimleygrid
The table cloth is one of those plastic ones, I have to put it down otherwise Mrs G won’t let me use the kitchen table! Sorry Satan’s Goldfish, I will try to limit the amount showing in future photos! I am hoping to get another set of skylights glued down tonight or tomorrow. Shedmaster
Hi Mr Grimley, Please forgive me, for I have sinned........it has been 'xx' months since last paying you a visit and I promise to repent ! I'm really loving your layout mate and the attention to detail is fantastic, seriously, way back when you did the wheel lathe I thought you were doing amazing things even then ! Just wanted to drop a line and say how good this is looking, it's nice to see so much variety in that whatever era you choose to run, whatever liveries, they really look at home. Best of luck finishing those rooflights...............definately watching these coming along. Kindest Regards, Shed.
Grimleygrid
Mr Shedmaster, you do not need to say anything it is just nice to see you back on RMWeb and thanks for your kind comments and visiting my thread. At the end of the day you are The Shedmaster!

Grimleygrid
Phew what a relief.......all the skylights have been glued down on to the roof sections. I am very pleased to get to this stage of the project......... Working on the roof seems to have taken ages and I am relieved to finally see the light at the end of the tunnel on this particular part of the project. This has been difficult and at times frustrating. Motivation was required to keep going....... image by AP474, on Flickr image by AP474, on Flickr image by AP474, on Flickr image by AP474, on Flickr Now to get the trimming fitted to the edges of the skylights and lead flashing on the top. After that, get the industrial roof vents weathered and glued down. Then the roof should be finished.........
Grimleygrid
Here is a photo showing the roof sections with skylights added and sat on the depot: image by AP474, on Flickr image by AP474, on Flickr This afternoon I decided to clear the front of the depot and line up a few locos to see how it would look. The last time I did this was out in the garden but with some of my class 60 fleet, although a long time ago....April 2010 in fact! This is the first time I have lined up some BR locos in front of the shed. image by AP474, on Flickr image by AP474, on Flickr image by AP474, on Flickr image by AP474, on Flickr

Grimleygrid
Thanks David, a few more Choppers, Grids and Bones required me thinks..... This weekend I have been preparing the trim for the skylights, these pieces have now been primed and given a top coat of weathered black. image by AP474, on Flickr Hopefully this week I can get the trim added to the skylights. RBE
Looks very good. Will it be a diarama?
Grimleygrid
Hi Porkie, thanks. It is nice to see some BR stock outside the front of the shed. It will look better once the cladding is added and the doors are on. Oh and the floor down....still so much to do.... Thanks Cav. My plan is for it to be a depot layout, eventually! I am hoping to see the first locos move around the depot in 2014. Hopefully by the time the weather improves I can marry up the current board, which houses the depot shed, with board number two that will contain the track to the north of the shed. I am looking forward to that day! Might need to get some Government finance for purchasing all the points that are required first! One day I would like to have a four track mainline running by the side of it but that may be a bit too much! Still you have to have plans for the future!
