Popular Post Ruston
An old Peckett turned up in Charlie Strong's scrapyard. It had come from a gasworks and it had been built with a dropped footplate and lowered boiler fittings for running under coal bunkers. The Westinghouse pump was not for air brakes but was in fact to provide compressed air for opening and closing the hopper doors on internal use wagons that were used to charge the retorts. All the more impressed as I know you scratch built the plants too. Thanks Graham.... Actually those particular ones are from a plastic wall covering. The 'plants' are on a square peg that clips onto the plastic backing forming the wall covering, I simply prized them off and sprayed them with satin green and brown underneath for the stems, then highlighted individual leaves. Not too sure what they represent but there is a bunch of simpler foliage growing out of a wall up the road from home I could have made up a batch my self out of tin foil and wire, but wanted to try a different approach in this corner. More tin foil plants are in the pipeline... 4
