RBE
Surely, like anything else, it would have looked great in Loadhaul! I'll let the other guys tackle this, as they appear to have files set up for Kestrel already. A couple of recent additions from me now With the ex Fastline 66s currently off lease, what if they were given suitably neutral liveries to allow spot hire work? Here is LNER green 66303 So what if instead of sectorisation, BR remained one large unit, and as a replacement for blue adopted APT style colours. A natural progression really, the APT was a success and put into production, so the livery was adopted on the HST refurbishment program in place of Exec, to give a fleetwide appearance The APT livery, to my eyes, even makes a 66 look like a thing of the 80s! Reminds me of one of Gene Hunt's ties cheers jo The HST wears the APT livery quite well! I wonder how it would look on a 47 or 87? Cheers David Heres the 47 you've been waiting for. A bit shabby after years hammering away on the cross country services!! Cheers Cav
RBE
Actually this might look better, what do you think? Cheers Cav Donor Photo courtesy of Ross Aitken
Rhydgaled
RBE, it took me a while to spot the difference between your 47s! I think I perfer the first version, without the extra white band at the top. INTERCITY Swallow was one of my favorite liveries. Unfortunatly the nationalised East Coast franchise has not brought it back, and it wouldn't work with contrasting door colours. So, I've come up with a livery similar to Swallow that replaces the East Coast logos and stripe on their INTERCITY 225's new silver scheme with other vynals. In my opinion it looks a lot smarter than East Coast's livery, even though I didn't quite match the door colour to the upper bodyside sucessfully in my Photoshops. Also, please imagine the EAST COAST and INTERCITY text to be in the exact font the real Swallow livery (and Great Western Merlin) used. Steadfast
Macedonia have a large fleet of GM built locos. What if once they are life expired, a fleet of off-lease 66s are bought from the UK? cheers jo
Rods_of_Revolution
I like this for reasons Jo well knows! Regards, Jack
Steadfast
I've had a couple of ideas recently that I had to see how they look in practise. Hmm, instead of the original HST livery (which I'm not a fan of) what if the much tastier Large Logo was appplied An alternative take on the Canadian National / DB Schenker 67 with a bit of the CN black and red. A bit less brash than the all over red IMO cheers jo
Burkitt
More of a future livery than an alternative one... Steadfast
Nice work on the tram there Paul, inspired me to fire up Photoshop again One I've been meaning to do for a while after Superned's request, Arriva Cross Country livery on a class 67 jo
Dr Gerbil-Fritters
Not so much as a livery redesign but a total makeover. I've always thought the 66s looked a little unfinished, what with all the underframe showing. And there was something about the cab that seemed vaguely familiar. So I did what EMD should have done in the first place...
Burkitt
The resemblance to the Western is no coincidence - apparently the class 59 cab styling followed the Western's at the request of Foster Yeoman, as the hydraulics had previously been used to haul their stone trains. Cornish Triang Paul
Indeed but some ruling said they had to have straight windows. With all the preserved 47s around, suprised nobody has done Kestrel or Lion and same for Peak/100001 black.
steve fay
With my resurgent intrest in all things American Could some one do a deltic in Santa Fe Silver and Red. Or a 66 in Norfolk Southern or BNSF. Or for a bit of reverse a SD70 in Load haul or triple grey with sector markings!!!!
Dr Gerbil-Fritters
I'd like a CIE class 071 in banger blue with full yellow ends - would make a nice illustration for the modernisation thread
Cornish Triang Paul
The CIE has been done on Flikr but youn will have to search for it. Ficticious livery or similar.

RMweb Gold Trevellan Posted February 15, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 15, 2012 Yes, certainly some very interesting interpretations and extremely well edited. I'd often wondered about a Western in large logo blue...
Kelly
Loving some of the livery photoshop jobs on this thread. I think though with my love of aviation, and especially Vulcan XH558, the Vulcan photoshop image gets my vote!
Cornish Triang Paul
I think 109,s versins are better than the late Fictitious Liveries on Fotopic and better quality too. On a reverse note, on Ebay recently was a repaint of a 67 in RES and have also seen IR (CIE) 67 and HST and looked very good and the orange/black sat very well. RMweb Premium John M Upton Posted February 15, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 15, 2012 I have had thoughts to doing either a 31, 33 or 47 in Satlink livery which from what I can work out would be Dutch Civil Engineers livery but with the grey replaced by red. Cornish Triang Paul
Just discovered on Flikr, "Alternative Railways" phtostream. NSE 67 !
steve fay
Great link, Some of my favoriteare the Deltic in large logo, Western in Triple grey and the proto deltic in UP. I cant beleive a 20 never got Dutch livery it looks so real and fimiliar. That 40 in Load haul is nice. That livery suits everything I think DB should rebrand themselves as DB loadhaul in the UK and use the orange and black livery.
RMweb Gold Trevellan Posted February 15, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 15, 2012 Frankly, I reckon that Loadhaul was probably one of the worst liveries ever, gaudy and unrelated to the lines of the locos it adorned. It always reminded me of crudely printed packaging for biscuits or some other product. Still, life would be boring if we all liked the same things.
