mullie
There used to be other Downes buildings dotted around, are they still there? Not been to Pecorama for a few years, my two daughters used to really enjoy a day out playing mini golf, riding on the light railway and the exhibition. RMweb Gold Stubby47 Posted August 26, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 26, 2015 (edited) Yes, there are two sub-baseboards prominently displayed underneath the loft layout which are unmistakably the work of Mr Downes. I also saw a windmill, but it looked unlike the one from earlier on this thread. I also saw this today. .. 1:72 scale model of Truro Cathedral. mullie
The fact it wasn't real can't have helped, being made of plastic or metal wouldn't have aided digestion in any one of its four stomachs!

allan downes
I think Allan's response could be interesting! Some of the stuff is mine, not sure about the single thatched cottage though it's kinda my style, the windmill, well too good for me which also means it's too good for Robinson ! Anyway, thanks for sharing Stubby. Back from Scotland. No sign of Robinson anywhere. But there's an awful lot of sheep missing...
RMweb Premium The White Rabbit Posted September 1, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 1, 2015 That might be my fault, I've been having rather a lot of lamb lately. allan downes
Few more test shots with new camera. The dearer they come, the harder to use. The more hi-tech they are, the worse to operate. Wifey's girlie pink cheapie knocks the Canon SX60 into a cocked hat. Anyway, here's the so called wonder camera test shots.
RMweb Premium The White Rabbit Posted September 2, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 2, 2015 A few test shots using the Canon Powershot SX60. What do you think ? Cheers. Allan. For me, the signal box stands out. I think it should be a platform level model on the same piece of platform as the station platform and the coal bunker. As it is, it looks out of place. Maybe replace with a water crane? The semi-derelict red-brick factory also jars a bit - I'd put another stone building in, possibly a weighbridge and/or a boiler room. All your buildings are aligned in the same way - using the principles of randomness, I'd expect at least one to be at an angle to the others - maybe one to replace the red-brick factory? And would either a [non-operational] siding or rusty rails embedded in cobbles or setts add some interest? Just my thoughts...

allan downes
Tintagel revisited. After Chris Leigh bought the original model, wifey demanded I should build it again as she's found the perfect place to display it in the frontroom. This was months ago and now I've finally got round to it and here's the raw beginnings. This time however, I'm building it using Wills Course Stone Sheets and adapting Scalelink brass etched windows. Still trying to come to terms with the new camera hence one or two foggy shots. A greatt camera but too many buttons and too many promises with even a moon landing possible if you understand the instructions and have a friend with a rocket silo who knows somebody in Houston. Cheers. Allan.
alant
Allan, Can you advise on the ridge tiles you have used for your loco shed, are they scratchbuilt or a stock item from somewhere? Thanks, Alan.

Thanks, Alan. Hi Alan. The ridge tiles are made up using two different sizes of plastic angle where the lardger size is sliced up into 1mm wide sections and glued over the smaller sized angle at about 20 mm apart. Hope this helps. Cheers. Allan.
