Porcy Mane
37174 (D6874) at North Blyth on 11 August 2003. It had received a bit of a wash and brush up as the previous day it had been on display at the Huddersfield 150 rail day. Porcy
Alcanman
Great pic of 37174. Amazing co-incidence, I've just been looking at the forthcoming Bachmann release of 37174 in EWS colours. Here's 37114 also at North Blyth. The only 37 I managed to to get pics in three different liveries, BR Blue, Large Logo Blue and this one in EWS in 1999. Alcanman
I've found the other 2 pics of 37114 BR Blue, Perth 1981 (poor quality, sadly) BR Large logo Blue, Kyle of Lochalsh ( not sure of year, around 1985 I think) and a painting (done by my brother for me) using the first pic as reference Edited June 23, 2014 by Alcanman

Vin
Nice livery but it's a shame that they have done away with the blue solebar and roof sections. Vin

Vin
It should have the blue solebar but I think the new logo colour will make the solebar stand out too much. I've noticed their website hasn't changed the Phoenix colour so It maybe a one off? Regards Vin
RMweb Premium brushman47544 Posted July 7, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 7, 2014 Trying to keep a theme to my 37 posts this is an interesting one a Dr Who Theme...... All these were taken and todays date 23rd June but in different years 29 Years Ago 23/06/1985 37052Derby23061985.jpg 37052 Departs Derby with the 0740 Wolverhampton - Sheffield 23/06/1985 Cheers Steve Super photos, but what's the story with this one? It's heading south from Derby towards Long Eaton, so to be the 07.40 Wolves - Sheffield it must be being diverted, presumably via Toton.

jonny777
Some 37s receiving attention. However, I am not sure exactly where they are located, as works buildings all look the same to me First is 37148 - Then 37153 - Followed by 37165 - And finally 37506 - I'm sure many of you will recognise the location(s).
Vin
Hi, 37148 is in the now demolished Doncaster works as is 37506 before it was converted to 37604 in the mid nineteen nineties. 37165 is in Crewe works late 1987 just before triple grey Railfreight was introduced and before it became a 37/3 with CP7 bogies. As for 37153 the location looks familiar but I just can't put my finger on it. Regards Vin

Steve-e
Of interest anyone know why 37160 had a bigger nose job (above the buffers cut away more) than other 37's and also seems to have less grills was it a test bed for some engine modifications? see also these https://flic.kr/p/gcLnwD https://flic.kr/p/cox24w Cheers Steve
westie7
Is 153 the back of Inverness shed? Could be, The black painted Nose side grills were either an IS or ED thing IIRC
Wayne 37901
Did 37160 become 37373 by any chance? If so it was basically a poor mans refurb, with regeared CP7 bogies. Not sure of the exact reason for the modified cantrail grilles though, maybe some internal modifications? 37509 also received some modified grilles. Could corrosion be the reason for the taller cut always over buffer beams? Cheers Edited July 11, 2014 by Wayne 37901

Cheers Yes - and along with 37370 and 37379, it was always two out of the three on the Clitheroe-Gunnie cement five days per week, for about three years...........
