Andy, I think Kingsmill has always been my favourite layout of yours. I came across your work with Loch Leven and had missed K because it pre-dated my regular interest in the Forum.

As a matter of interest, do you have a list of the magazines, layouts and dates that have featured your layouts? It could make interesting reading for some!

Btw, the first 3 photos in your previous post are superb.

Cheers Jeff, funnily enough I have been sorting out the folder this morning with all the bits in ready to put in a box for the move, (still no date and getting frustrated).

I have had the following,=

Kingsmill, Model Rail No 117, May 2008, photographed by Martyn Barnwell.

Kingsmill, Railway Modeller, July 2009, photographed by Steve Flint.

Glen Roy, Railway Modeller, Aug 2011, photographed by Steve Flint.

St Budoc, Railway Modeller, Compact Layouts Supplement, Feb 2012, photographed by Steve Flint.

Weathering made Easy Pt1, Steel Wagons, Feb 2012, photographs by myself.

Weathering made Easy Pt2, Wooden Body Wagons, July 2012, photographs by myself.

Deesdale Road, Plan of the Month, March 2013, photographed by Steve Flint.

Weathering Made Easy Diesel Locos, Aug 2013, photographs by myself.

Loch Leven, Model Rail No 186, Sep 2013, photographed by Martyn Barnwell.

Trebudoc should be in Railway Modeller due out next week, (photos by myself) and Glen Roy in Model Rail in the next Month or so.

I also have 2 back scene painting articles, weathering Steam Locos, and Parcels Stock due in RM soon.

Andy Y and Mike Wild have also been to photograph Trebudoc and Glen Roy along with our clubs O Gauge layout. so no doubt they will be out in due course.

I must admit I have been looking at the Kingsmill track plan a lot over the last couple of weeks and it still looks do able, its problem last time was a lot of insulfrog points and wire in tube operation  from all along the front. Also the base board joint was never designed to be taken apart and put back together again and that was the reason for its demise.

Thanks Andy. I have the Model Rail mags and maybe one or two of the RMs. I'll check out the articles.

I used insulfrogs on my old layout - didn't know any better. I'd never have them on a layout nowadays. Electrofrog wiring is a short job and well worth it, especially if the blades and stock rails are electrically bonded.

That's a realy useful list Andy. I'll be digging out copies of these just to make sure I've not missed anything and get some inspiration for my next plank, although the two Kingsmill articles predate our involvement in model railways so will look out for some back issues.

Ray

Hi Ray and Polly, I hope you are both well. I will post some more pics of Kingsmill on here again later, I am thinking of re doing it for my next Exhibition project but in the Blue Period as I now have a couple of Blue 50's a 47 and a NSE 50 as well as the 2 x 25's and the 20 with sound. Not quite sure how the yard would work, I need to find some info/pics of Engineers Yards around 1986 / 87.

All the best.

Hi Andy.

Looks like you will need an extra wagon (lorry) to shift all that stock when you eventually get a moving date.

Ray.

Ray, if Pollys free when we move I could do with a Pack Horse, WHOOPS ducking again, Why do I keep digging myself a hole?

Dodge it :nono: :scared:

Thanks for the additional Kingsmill pics, Andy. When I build my shunting plank - it may be a while, and there'll be plenty of shunting on KL - I'll use your plan as an initial "skeleton".

As I mentioned on KL, if you want a late 4F, Kernow has just re-stocked.

Time for some more pics I think.

I am getting board not actually BUILDING a layout. I went up the club again this morning now that all our packing is done. at least I can get on with modeling jobs up there. I re wired the mini control panel for the goods loops at one end and put in the base for the roadway up the hill out of the Town area, think of Mills on Hills and Stone walls.

The first couple tonight it is a shot of testing on The Crammore Inn, The pub was to go on the road over bridge, the sector fiddle yard can just be seen in the top right of the first pic.

Next one that I have not shown before, and that is the FIRST Kingsmill (Kingsmill Viaduct) this is the only section that ever got built, the Viaduct is from the Metcalff range.

Andy - what would you do without the Club and the Forum?

Just keep the pics coming. A lot of us love seeing them - bit more exciting than looking at my Fell or ballasting!

If anyone objects, they can go look at something else!

Btw, I've suggested Rob shows us a load of pics of his locos - WITHOUT the photoshopping... Thought you'd like that!

Morning Polly, I wondered what the Quacking noise was, it must have been the LAME DUCK creeping around the layout. hahhahha

Get Ray to feed you up, you will need stamina if you are doing lots of shows next year.
