Practicing, Painting,  in the odd few moment's, in the last 2 day's, doing thing's other than railway's.

You know I can't paint for  toffee   chocolate, but am determinted to better the platform front's on DP.

here is the practice piece, it has had 4 fine layers, in two day's, the left 2 panel's I gave a layer of cote matt varnish,

so will add more layer's over the next day's............. Now, where is that, " In Flight Video", runs as required, wanted.........never mind, he'll just have to read, BRM.

for someone who can't paint you have the right type of technique for these platforms. There are no brush strokes here and non required, and the water has been a wash giving the correct type of finish in my opinion. The second but last picture shows there is a little green growth on the concrete, but reflecting that could be tricky now you have a nice finish. I often use excess water and use a second pint brush to introduce a watery colour when the main paint job is still wet. The colour finishes in the citadel range are especially good for introducing minimal colour.

As with your modelling your painting is improving.

I dont remember who said it but they said to be a good artist you need to have flair blah blah blah BUT to be a great artist you need to practise your art for like 10,000 hours, In other words the more time and practise you put in the more you observe the process and the better you become. This is certainly proving to be the case in your work.

The opportunity you have to see the real thing in various lights and record it has given you a unique chance to record this before the  advent of time changes it.

I was just looking at the last station pictures....which I had already reposted, but you'd think they would use something more secure than a garden shed...wouldn't you.

For what ?, are you thinking

Well I have no idea....as I have no idea what they have in side the shed. It just doesn't seem very secure.

Although they clearly have their priorities, as breaking into the signal box would take some doing.

The sheds location, nearly under the road bridge, is the potting shed, for planters and hanging baskets, for the summer.

It also is used as a store for bag's of Grit and Salt, for the winter.

There is another shed,'tween the siding roads,which, I think,serves a similar purpose.

My mother arrived yesterday,(for her 90th.birthday next week).

Traveled down,from Newcastle upon Tyne,departed 1100.Arr. in Dover.1540.

Began her journey by being escorted, by a policeman, pulling her suitcase over the bridge to platform 10. in Newcaslte. :O .

Escorts, on and off the train, then thru,Kings X to St.Pancreas and onto HS1.

All of this,without asking for assistance,she is,neither,mentally impaired,nor infirm.

Linked calls 'tween, assistance, escorts through the journey, apparently, so I found out from the

Dover Stationmaster, when waiting to collect,on Dover station,he thought I wanted to take pics,

I though he was to flagged the HS1 out on departure,

to Ramsgate...... :nono:

We both unknowingly,to each other,....... were waiting for the same person,.........my mother.

........   sneak away from the eagle-eyed gaze of the nonagenarian  .........   :scared:   ..........   or have you promised her a "Family Day Out" - as revenge for those days when Mum takes the family on a "Family Day Out" and you end up in some shopping Mall [or worse - Ikea!!]

Aaah, one moment  .........    the word Grandchildren seems to have a tempting ring to it  .......

Have a good day at the show  .........   and I won't recommend keeping a Seal on the wallet ...   there is no point in going to a show with limits like that  .....    :sungum:

 Smithdown Road Junction

A Big Thanks to............. Shanks522 and team,  for teaching,my grandson, how to operate, their layout, in 6. minutes, grandson, now know's more than I do.

Glad you had a good day the little lad looked as though he really enjoyed himself Shankks ,s layout is superb and I bet he had fun running it now he will want to start running your empire!

He certainly did look as though it was fun, and a steep but very swift learning-curve. He's lucky to have you as a grandfather. ;)
