Not much done on the layout as it’s been a busy weekend.

I’ve just ordered some vehicles from N Tastic  as well as a sheet of etched hand wheels for the N Trak Chemical works.

A busy weekend away in Manchester with Mrs G has just passed. Single 3 car 185 from York to Manchester Victoria rammed to the gunnels. Fortunately we had reserved seats.  Premier Inn at Media City very good…and cheap. £6.80 weekend all network tram ticket (1800 Friday to close of service Sunday) a proper bargain. We went to Crosby to see the Anthony Gormley installation on the beach…..a Norwich to Liverpool train 2x2 class 158 absolutely jam packed full…..37 year of working for BR and commuting paid off and we managed to get seats. A trip to Bury for the ELR 37109 was on one circuit but we had a 56xx tank then City of Wells for the round trip. Good meat and potato pie on the railway too.

After getting back from Manchester yesterday we were due to play the charity quiz in our local curry house The Parvin. We won again, two bottles of wine and a box of chocolates….but the star prize was we were offered a bucket…..yes a bucket of Sag Aloo to take home……couldn’t say no. This has been decanted into 10 takeaway boxes and some have gone to the other team members who wanted some……only 7 left for our freezer!

After an Interweb trawl this evening I’ve found from photos that the chassis was painted the same colour as the body. So it’s masking up time to respray or hand paint the chassis members.

The only alteration I’ve made to the 3D model is to add a prop shaft as that will be visible through the chassis members.

The Transit chassis cab has now gained a top coat, the Film Generator unit has also gained top coats. The cab will be repainted dark brown though, as that appears to be the colour from this picture.https://flic.kr/p/eEwwcj

Different type of truck of course.

The only unpainted vehicle is the LWB Transit.

Nice job with the windscreen.

Thanks Grahame, looks even better now as I’ve used a UniPin brush pen to outline the window in black, loosing the cut lines.

The Ntastic Ford Transit chassis cabs are coming along. Two have windscreens cut and attached, the other two are next to do. As the chassis are missing the rear bar that has the tail lights and indicators attached I will need to make them. Carflat needs weathering too.

Looking good Andy.

What did you use for glazing??

I've got a load of Richards vehicles to do.

Cheers

Neal.

Thanks Neal

The windscreen is just some plasticard, one was done with an odd bit of 20 thou that I had left, the rest are from a sheet of 10 thou. Prefer the thicker 20thou. It’s just been trimmed and sanded to shape and fitted with Kristal Klear. Side and rear windows are just Kristal Klear.

Do you want some more to do? 😀

Steven B.

Let me think about that……..😂

No short cuts with cutting windscreens, just a necessary pain isn’t it?

RedAndy767 prints 3D vehicles, many of which grace KPA. He has produced a 2 door Vauxhall Viva HC in the past and has now progressed to the 4 door version. These were the first two cars I owned after I passed my driving test. RMD183L which was British Racing (Conifer) Green with a black vinyl roof, followed by BWV83T a (Polar) white one with blue vinyl roof…..class!

I have two unpainted models enroute to become these two cars.
