eastwestdivide
Don't know where, but what are those two small horizontal white bars? Just artefacts on the photo, or something blanked out?
RMweb Gold Stubby47 Posted January 26, 2010 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted January 26, 2010 No touching up has been done to the pic - it's as it looks (looking north-ish, if that helps...) Bear in mind too, I don't travel very far from home...
Pete Harvey
Cornwall is not a small place though? Pete
Penlan
Somebody seems to have left some PC Models S4 wheels lying around - very rare items...... Penlan
RMweb Gold The Stationmaster Posted January 26, 2010 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 26, 2010 Up Bodmin way perchance?
RMweb Gold Stubby47 Posted January 26, 2010 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted January 26, 2010 Up Bodmin way perchance? 'Fraid not, much further south and west (but not quite Penlan country...) The lack of sheen on the rails may help...
RMweb Gold Oldddudders Posted January 26, 2010 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 26, 2010 Not my territory at all, but the track looks like bullhead on concrete. Clearly I need new specs!
RMweb Gold Stubby47 Posted January 26, 2010 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted January 26, 2010 Ian, I would suggest your specs are in perfect working order... but this track won't be under the Captain's remit... Stu

BTW, looks like the old track bed where I walked my dog has been made less accessable, dog won't like walking on that lot..... RMweb Premium Mallard60022 Posted January 27, 2010 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 27, 2010 Spot on, Bubbles2 ! Some more pics which I'll put in the Gallery later, with proper captions. Good to see the revival of an old line. Surprised someone hasn't nicked those wheels! Just to be pedantic, when I lived in SUNNY Devon I was told I lived in the west. I though I lived in the South when I moved to Sussex? Please do not take offence, it's just that my Geography A level is now 45 years old! Sincerely, Janner in Exile ( in the east midlands - just!). RMweb Gold Stubby47 Posted January 27, 2010 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted January 27, 2010 The thread title was in referance to and opposite of the 'mystery location in the North' thread - also I wanted to be somewhat vague as to the general area. For me, the south west is anywhere to the lower right of Bristol, although I notice Swindon is now included in some geographical reports...
RMweb Gold Captain Kernow Posted January 27, 2010 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 27, 2010 this track won't be under the Captain's remit... I had no idea they had laid that much! I'll have to investigate.....
eastwestdivide
For me, the south west is anywhere to the lower right of Bristol, although I notice Swindon is now included in some geographical reports... lower right? no wonder we're all confused. Swindon - I thought if you could commute to London in an hour, it must be the southeast. Mind you, last time I was there you could get TV from Birmingham, Bristol and Southampton with a good aerial. PS what were those two white horizontal bars on the original photo?
RMweb Gold Stubby47 Posted January 27, 2010 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted January 27, 2010 Oops.... I obviously meant lower Left...... lack of food/sleep/modelling..... Sorry, no idea what the bars were.
RMweb Gold Stubby47 Posted January 27, 2010 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted January 27, 2010 Having looked at the full size photo, I think they are 'limit of shunt' indicators, showing how far the new track is safe to use. Stu
