HO Monon inspired layout

Recommended Posts

If the rest of the build goes as well- not! As with these examples the scene will be more about abandoned and un repaired items than whole! Plastic is very brittle and does not care to snipped or cut through off the sprue without some vital part remaining attached. Holes are minute but even if carefully reamed out with finest reamer plastic disappears! Perhaps best to try something else today

What make are those Steve?

Long week at work with data meetings seemingly every day and more to come next week. Whatever happened to kids being more than numbers! Highlights however were the Vegetable Orchestra, something wanted to do for 14 years and launch of a police dvd on dangers of using phones and not wearing seat belts - great pieces of work showing that kids and education is more than just numbers- political statements over and today has 2 hours of nothing will get in the way I am doing whatever happens modelling!

First project will be working on the garage scene

No modelling activity on the Monon for over 6 weeks and with the club layout Troutons on show later this month at Pontefract, work commitments etc then only likely looking at bits and bobs being done. Did take advantage of Model Junction Boxing Day sale to order some bits and looking forward to the post delivering the goods.

Now Troutons not out again until Halifax this year and work allows then hoping to make a little more foster progress with the Monon layout.

Good haul from Contikits this weekend. Very rare I find a second hand Monon car but just like buses found three!

Managed to extract the 2 layout boards from under all the rammel that gets put in a garage. All the buildings so far put roughly in their place. Must really crack on with the track laying and wiring.

Thanks for the likes - got to press on and use the rainy morning to accomplish something

Replaced track and resoldered onto brass screws at baseboards ends. Less rude words this time and hopefully a more positive result than yesterday. Good news Model Junction confirmed Bulford Monon Transfer caboose on its way so need to lay track to see it run!

Small word of advice - make sure that the bogie pivot screws are in vertically - there was much p11$$ed-offness on a certain stand at Glasgow due to the drunken angle of one on Saturday and nothing that could be done on site to straighten it up - I think it is going to be an epoxy-fill-and-re-drill job, and with the price of the beast that really shouldn't have to happen!

Will be well miffed if it has as it has taken an age to come!
