garethashenden
This is some of the stock I plan on using. With the gondola, I guess I could install a crane on the unloading platform. Possibly taking away surplus/scrap from the warehouse/factory? You may want to check the dates on those two red ATSF cars. I think that's a '60s scheme. The service date will be on the car, month and year.

steve1
Did you consider a sector plate instead of a traverser or 'lift'? steve
Robatron86
I did, but I can't remember why I decided against it.
Robatron86
Last night I started to super detail my star loco, the Alco RS-2. I have painted the zebra stripe on the lower section, multiple unit and brake pipes added. Also the track has been secured to the board, and everything has been wired. After a good clean, everything works!

Adrian Wintle
, just needs covering in the white stuff! I guess I should get out and take some pictures now that we have some snow on the ground, although it is a bit cold today (-22C according to the car this morning) and the camera might protest. garethashenden
Thank god Rob doesn't model in N scale! I can read dates in N. I'm picky about it too. I won't buy cars online unless I can read/find elsewhere the service date.
Robatron86
When I started collecting freight cars, I knew next to nothing, and now have quite a collection of cars not really suitable for either of my NA interests (1950's Chicago SF and 1980's New Mexico SF). I am now in the process of repainting and modifying inappropriate cars.
DanielB
I go mainly for "cheap" when buying HO scale stock. So far I've spent about £70 and gotten an Athearn CF7 and 5 freight cars. Not too bad, I don't think.

DanielB
Will you be at TVNAM with it? I'd love to catch up with you mate, last time I didn't get the chance as I was on my own. Well now I've got an operating crew so that should change for this years exhibition!
Robatron86
I will be at TVNAM with it, and a crew, so we can have a proper catch up.
DanielB
We'll see what the floor plan is like nearer the time I guess, but I'll be bringing a HO micro layout too, so maybe we'll be in the same room this year?

Robatron86
Thank you for your kind words and the advice on weathering. I shall have a go. I use acrylics, with a combination of matt, silk and gloss. Your weathering is very impressive. Very well done. Also thank you for adding the layout to your blog! Very happy with that!
