Morning all,

Thank you for your kind comments and likes etc.

When the Peckett was damaged at the Cardiff show, I was more than a tad disappointed and it's taken me a long time to do something about it. I'm therefore quite pleased with how the little chap has turned out.

I'm going to add a few more details to it, oil cans on the footplate etc. Main thing is checking the layout itself over as in nine days time it's got to be ready to go.

One thing I must do is sort out the engine shed, specifically, improve the fit of the water tower to engine shed join.

Right, I'm off to the Room of Doom.

The game is ahoof.

Such a shame that it ended up being scrapped after the closure of Sheep Dip.

In other news, darling Nesta arrived courtesy of Santa.

She's a delightful little thing. Sadly, the poor dear wasn't particularly photogenic yesterday evening......or perhaps Norman was adversely affected by more port than we thought but the photos were simply not up to scratch.

A second attempt to secure some suitable images will be made later on.

However, I can confirm that the little woolly cells are ticking in respect of a suitable tableau where Nesta can frolic.

Rob.

I must confess I also succumbed to a purchase of both Charles and Nesta when the mainline Hunslet was announced.

This has lead to the purchase of some meridian kits for Penrhyn slate wagons as a try out.

What exactly to do with these things is unclear at this stage.

How is your planning coming on Rob?

Mange tout, Asterix.

Quite well.......ish

Do I go big ( usual 4ft x 16ins )?

Do I go bijou ( Er....smaller ) ?

Shunty (probably )  or roundy roundy (not keen)

Definitely weedy. Probably slate buildings as per The Dip plus a bit of wriggly, rusty tin.

Maybe a bit slopey, possibly docky or a bit mountainy/rocky slate stuff.

There, sorted. Thanks for the prompt.

Rob.

I saw virtually the whole set in the display cabinet at Expressway Models, Buckfastleigh today.

I resisted.

I was feeling strong today.

Goodness knows what will happen if I go back in there and haven't had enough Weetabix for breakfast, though.

While we are on the subject of baseboards, has anybody used Model Railway Solutions boards?  I could build them myself, but know the limit of my skill in cutting and assembling bits of wood, and want the single board I need to be flat and level.

They are excellent, and they aren't laser cut, they are properly machined
