  1. That's a shame, on Android a long press brings up a menu which includes the option to copy the url. I'll try and talk to people and see what our options are.
  2. It's very rare that we don't have an N gauge layout in, this month has a little more focus on O gauge for a change. I've just looked at the next 6 months and at the moment there's an N gauge layout in each of those issues.
  3. Just over a year ago I spent several sessions with Steve where he showed just what goes into some of his weathered products; when you see all this is shows what good value Grimy Times' services are.
  4. A - Where has it been said? B - Repeating 'hearsay' is not a defence for making a libellous accusation. C - It is not 'RMweb' making the accusation, it is you, personally.
  5. It does seem to be a problem for some ipad users with the embedded video content, not being an Apple user I can't help with much practical advice but is there any means by a long press to lift the url of the video and paste it into a browser to see if will then run it?
  6. As it's now 'official' http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/140125-cake-box-challenge-2018-results/ I would like to add my congratulations to Kevin, a superbly executed diorama which emerged as a very clear winner with voters.
  7. I asked you where your evidence was to make your libellous assertion.
  8. Thanks for the nominations which are starting to roll in. It seems some need a bit of guidance though: Innovation of the Year - nominate your favourite non-loco/rolling stock product of 2018 Nominations should refer to innovations which have actually reached the market in 2018 and not be items of stock (they're in the products section) unless it is an item of stock which has introduced a new feature.
  9. There's a separate topic for this year. http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/140016-rails-of-sheffield-advent-calendar/
  10. You're right, such 'right to know' demands bug me. Just what good would it do anyone else to know such stuff? Between spurious FOI requests and the overt expression of Lookatmebook sits a normal world.
  11. A bizarre form of unsolicited emails today - embargoed DfT press releases and invitation to a DfT event - more suspicious than a Nigerian 419!

Very glad I didn't waste a day of my life to attend their announcement that they kindly extended to me - https://www.railmagazine.com/news/network/government-launches-rail-sector-deal

  12. There's no 'secrecy', we just didn't broadcast it to all - there's no obligation to do so and relatively few industry changes are announced. We are doing a lot of things well but there's more we can do better still, especially with regard to cross-publication planning and implementation along with a lot of digital content planning and it was decided it was time for moving onwards and Andy was approaching two years in the role. Our editor's role is very different from any of the other mags as we do a lot more as a team. Beyond that it wouldn't be appropriate for me to say more so why should there be any expectation for it to be so?
  13. Basil, I consider the previous statement to be adequate and the full and final advice is not in the hobby interest.
  14. I should add that's all down to Ruth as designer and Steve Cole coordinating the sharp end.
  15. Nope; I'm definitely not Godfrey! I just wrote the Ed page this month (Phil's next month). I will continue to annoy layout owners at exhibitions and in their clubs/garages/lofts/spare bedrooms etc taking photos, swanning around with Phil filming stuff including places you don't normally get to see (including a short spell on the Duke of Edinburgh's throne recently) and sifting through deluges of boxes in the photo studio, wiping blood off the walls here and getting cross with server monkeys. I've got quite enough to do thank you!

  17. With good reason at the moment so please don't keep coming back and posting the same thing expecting it to be OK all of a sudden.
  18. The title can get truncated in some views (such as the View New Content screen), I'll rejig the title to get the important info toward the front of the title.
  19. It's not about being 'under threat' at all Alan but it's a bit daft really to give equal prominence to other publishers who aren't contributing to running costs here. I don't disagree in principle with your comments about the Journal but I thought it fair to be consistent.
  20. Have you tried a direct communication? http://www.kernowmodelrailcentre.com/contact
  21. I've had a chat with Chris today and the instance was discussed. It's probably fair to say, firstly, that Warley isn't the most conducive place for sensible discussions and also that, inevitably, in such cases that interpretation of the situation may vary too. Chris does recall the exchange and it's true that specific delivery dates are not set yet but there seems to be another aspect to this in so much as you wanted to know the date so that you could order to obtain the advantageous pre-order price, but apparently not yet. In that context I do think it unfair to be publicly hostile in this fashion when there is an undisclosed aspect.
  22. I'm not familiar with the form that you get the ticket in from the ticket factory but it may be sensible to print a copy out if it's easy enough to do and you have access to a printer. If not, don't panic, I am sure we'll get you sorted.
