    Dawn over Margate

No. I have a sniper scope on the rifle at the top of RMweb Towers.

    Dawn over Margate

The relevance was Pegwell Bay and the former terminal. I did go in search of the D-day diorama in the visitor centre but it's no longer there; I will be in Normandy on the 6th June though.

    Dawn over Margate

The view would be considerably enhanced with one or two of these.

Jeez, it's obvious what I meant; why the need to distract from the intent of a topic?
  5. A gratuitous scenic snap of Sandwich to the right and Margate behind me yesterday morning after a trip to the ancestral home of Hornby, Westwood House, at Margate to see Hornby's plans for 2019. All I can say is that you're in for some real surprises come January 7th and some very visible signs of progress. We had the chance to talk to all the directors and I have to say, from talking to Lyndon Davies that there's very real evidence of substantial developments from the Isle of Thanet for 2019 and beyond. We could see that the team have been working very, very hard on some rather special items over the last year!
  6. We're not the top seller (but things are going well from the figures I've been reading this morning) but we do put a lot of effort in and we do have some excellent contributors. Thanks for the seasonal wishes, the same to you of course Mike!
  7. I got the impression from the previous post that you thought there may have been some trolling. I am quite satisfied that the registration and post was made by the party concerned. Edits were made as he felt the arena may be hostile but he wished to address that he had been incorrectly maligned by comments based on previous information posted. I have explained that it would be fair for him to have the opportunity to address any issues raised from his business's side.
  8. I am going to lock this for now as there is some silly irrelevant and speculative guff which is of no use or benefit to anyone. I will re-open it when there's something of substance.
  9. You may have made premature assumptions; initial checks show the source of the posting. I am awaiting further information.

  11. Thanks to everyone who visited at the weekend! Thanks to the layout crews, Bournemouth West had a full barrier until the last service headed for Waterloo on Sunday afternoon. Callum was swamped on Amiens 1918 all weekend and made quite a few youngsters' days. Great layouts this year and I was really taken with the new end board for Faringdon, a superb street scene. Thank you too to the stewards of Masrket Deeping MRC who make it all possible. The date change had a good outcome I'd say and I feel it was the best quality Peterborough show we've had so a well done to Sam for booking that range of layouts.
  12. I have given as much information as I feel it is appropriate to do so (and more than you will find anywhere else), even if I told you everything I think I know it wouldn't actually be of any use to you or anyone else - an assessment would only be an opinion and that's of even less use.
  13. It was more of a lost person announcement. Lovely to meet you Tony.
  14. If I'm honest I did go and look at the calendar to see if it was feasible to go this evening if there'd been a meeting.
  15. I've only ever known something on the Friday evening when we're leaving after set-up to be fair; it can be interesting getting out of the gate if you time it badly.
  16. I've just looked at the signposts on the A1 from the south on Streetview and they're not great to be honest Steve. There are signs for Services (a BP garage) and the turning is just after that. A sign at the sliproad (not before) says ' Showground, Chesterton, Alwalton, Elton. https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@52.5461898,-0.3329827,3a,75y,288.98h,85.32t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sGh_UGR3-XSLJhQr0NiQB6A!2e0!7i13312!8i6656
  17. I can't give a complete answer to that Pete but I assume it's so that visitors know that it's the Arena rather than another part of the Showground site and listing something as taking place at the East of England Arena, East of England Showground would confuse *some* if there are multiple events on site. Anyway I've just checked and the speedway season seems to be over and no other events are on there this weekend.
  18. I emphasise that it's a service quality award Bob "Retailers Customer Service Award - nominate the retailer who has given you the best service this year" - the same as products should be voted for on appeal/accuracy/functionality/reliability etc rather than the volume sold. I can't see any accurate way of giving it any weighting unless we knew the turnover/customer headcount for every business nominated. It doesn't make it pointless if any a large retailer does have the highest number of satisfied customers and it makes a change from listening to some on here who would seem to rather have a Customer Dissatisfaction Award. Any small retailer can be nominated and if they receive enough nominations they'll go through to the voting stage.
  19. Look for the East of England Showground signs off the A1 Steve; you'll find it with no problems. Have a good trip.
  20. That's it; we've made it - we're the new Journal.
  21. You should see a blue 'Submit' button below this: Thank you Thank you for your nominations. Voting will open on RMweb early January. Please remember to come back to cast your final votes for the products and the categories above.
  22. See http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/78681-n-gauge-class-17-clayton-locomotive/?p=3161064 It certainly doesn't mention 'cheating' and I think part of the problem is some people thinking they read something different from what the actual text said.
  23. That solely relates to the Class 74 crowdfunding with ring-fenced payments held by Kernow MRC where customers were refunded or given incentivised credit to their account for alternative purchases rather than the Class 17.
  24. I've been made aware that some stockists may not have the mag on their shelves today due to a distribution issue but that is expected to be resolved tomorrow/Saturday.
