  1. Re the crane and price forecasts, we don't yet know what the item's status will be ........ powered ( moves under its own power if the originals did that?) and powered lifting , slewing etc. or simply hand operated, It has to be considered it will not be a volume line when compared to locos, not everyone will have layouts that can sensibly accomodate one, so this will have to be a consideration built into the final price charged by Bachmann. Also worth noting other items which are not locos and have lower rates of sale tend to be expensive,, take for example the Fleischmann H0 Turntable at SRSP Euros 429 around £400. New and still fetching £300+ on S/H sites
  2. Assuming it is powered, assuming it is digitally controlled, then I reckon that by the time it is released on the market closer to £275.00, If it is available with sound then this may be higher! I could of course be incorrect but looking at some other SRSPs around for other new items currently the Hobby is going to become more expensive.
  3. The Royal Mail delivery man ( ie Postman) made it through the freezing temperatures and heavy hail this morning to deliver my latest order just after 8-00AM, which was placed just after 3-00PM Friday ( yesterday) Once again Well Done!
  4. Re the £72 coaches, one has to draw their own conclusuions from this, it could be an error and simple transposition of 27, or perhaps the coaches are now classed by Hattons as being Rare and sought after!
  5. Had you been more specific in your initial request for information and mentioned that you needed to attach a document I would have suggested that it could perhaps be faxed (01297 20229) There are still quite a number of fax machines in use!
  6. I know exactly what you mean, I placed 43 orders with Hattons in 2016, this year it will be significantly less as I am dealing with other retailers more frequently who offer rapid trouble free service, and value for money prices without any problems, these tend to be much smaller companies, but the goods purchased is the same! I have placed but 1 Hattons order in the last couple or so months!
  7. The converse to all this which I must admit is very rare, I tend to look around for H0e items and a year back they advertised a ROCO 0-8-0+TT Loco in the pre used section, these are currently out of production and getting thin on the ground, the last RRP was not much short of £300, typical discount price around £240 to £250. Roco have occasionally issued special editions of the loco, so when one came up in the special edition series of 500 for around £150 I bought it fingers crossed, when it arrived it was obviously unused with all factory packing intact, and to cap it all it was one of a very small number which had been factory fitted with Digital sound, the most recent reference to a RRP I could locate was around Euros 480. So I did actually get a bargain. I have also had a couple of H0e locos Bemo & Roco which were returned as faulty within 24 hours!!
  8. I have said this before re S/H pricing where Old is more expensive than 'New' I just don't get it, I wonder if its a case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing?
  9. I have had the same.....phoned them and was thanked for letting them know!! Recently got on to the chat section after a longish connection wait and was advised the IT Dept. are working on it. so I had to place order elsewhere.
  10. Easier just to telephone the number is in the Magazine,, instant response! If there is no one available they do phone back.
  11. I was hoping for a 123/124 TransPennine DMU Bit that is obviously wishful thinking isnt it!
  12. Oh Well I was hoping for class 123/124 Trans Pennine DMU Wishful thinking I suppose!
  13. Take a look at Track Shack website Hornby class 4 £138.50! Post Free Buy now and save! .
  14. Sign of the times I am afraid, Exchange rates, higher Chinese wages etc etc. However if you think these prices are expensive take a look at the prices that modellers of European railways have to pay for their locos etc.
  15. I have thus fitted around 20 ROCO locos ( 0-6-0 & 0-8-0+TT) with bent pin decoders over a few years and can confirm that it works!! If you go on to NGRM website you will find my response to the question and a Pic of a loco with bent pin decoder in situ!!
  16. Hi Ian did you read my response to tthis question posted on NGRM?
  17. Thats one of the advantages of life on the Isle of Man you don't have to work every day (only joking!)
  18. Yes the Mail in Wales seems to be working well at the mo! Never usually anything arrives late, always get my Track shack orders next day , might be placing another order tomorrow if Neil is reading this!!!
  19. I was not aware of that, thanks for pointing it out
  20. Black Wednesday ....... I remember it well I was deep into Wales calling on Pharmacies ( used to think of it as the railway day!!) I was in Aberystwyth naturally parked in the Stations( Std & NG) Car Parks I used to walk to the calls from there! I Kept phoning home to see what progress or not was being made on the news ( No Mobile in those days) and my wife told me that 15% Mortgage interest rate was forecast, later in the day the UK government opted out of some sort of financial arrangement with the EU which allowed interest rates to stabilise but still high compared with today
  21. Totally off topic, in'84 sold a 3 bed semi, in Cheshire for a fraction under £30,000, Moved to N Wales ( I worked all over Gtr Manchester Cheshire, n Wales & Staffs + the IOM so it did not matter where we lived) Bought a 4 Bed detached with massive garden for the railway, for £29.000 interest rate then around 8% So there was plenty of room for my mostly Hornby 00 railway and a Garden railway
  22. And Mortgage interest rates peaked at 15%!! And a brand new Hornby A4 Mallard, Green Livery was £22.22 ( I always remember that unusual SRSP)
  23. Sentinels £54.00 ish Track Shack NEW, be quick not many in stock!
  24. Just a single positive comment from me regarding Richard's recent post,................... the bit about dropping off orders on his way home, I can confirm that this happened to me last year when he delivered a large and heavy order which contained quite a quantity of garden railway track plus a few other items
