  1. What did everyone make of the race at the weekend? Glad Mick Schumacher was ok after that crash, Haas seem to be doing well. There seems to be a bit of respect between Max and Charles - I do wonder how long that’ll last. Hoping the gap to Australia will mean some of the other teams can make some improvements (Mercedes and McLaren)
  2. @AY Mod Hi Andy, feel a bit guilty asking this as I’m sure you’ve got 1001 other problems to look at the moment, but it seems like my gold subscription has disappeared. I’ve tried logging out and in on the world of railways site but didn’t make a difference. I did go a step further to try and link the accounts again but just got the attached error. There’s no urgency I’m just glad to have RMweb back again.
  3. Thanks to Andy and the RMWeb team for getting the site up and working again. Quite surprised how much I missed it when not there. Now are there any new Accurascale announcements that I’ve missed…
  4. That’s such a shame! Not…
  5. Has anyone else had to refit the sprung buffer? One popped out but I can’t see how they’re fixed to put it back
  6. For me OneDrive is more about the convenience, Microsoft have made it work as if it were a part of Windows and I can also use it on my iPhone/iPad, tbh it’s no different in that respect to iCloud and iPad/iPhone I could use that on my PC if I wanted. II have OneDrive because of my Office subscription - it’s a side benefit rather than being the reason I got it. That said I also use the photo storage from my Amazon Prime membership so my photos are on 2 different cloud providers. I wouldn’t use any of the cloud service as the only store for my document/photo, I still have local copies and the original memory sticks (I never reuse them). What other concerns would you have over cloud storage? is OneDrive perfect? No it isn’t when I first started using it I managed to create duplicates of all the files when syncing from 2 different PC’s. Also it is a subscription so if I stop paying the the files would be lost, but like I said it’s another store, not my only store.
  7. They did look good in the flesh today - I am very tempted. Originally I would have liked a Network Rail liveried one but the more research I do I really like the coal sector liveried versions - think the livery works well on them. I know Hornby did 31130 Calder Hall but I couldn’t say no if it was redone as an Accurascale model.
  8. Backpacks at Model Railway shows! lost count today at Ally Pally of being hit by them
  9. Personally I like the MS office suite*, using OneDrive to store and share documents makes a useful difference. I’m able to access my files from any device I have office on. As an example I’ve been able to create and share our holiday agenda from my PC and my wife can update it from her iPad and we can both work on it at the same time. I use it both at home and for work, where we’ll regularly have several working of the same documents at the same time. * I should probably say I may be a bit biased as my day job is to help sell the Microsoft Dynamic suite of product’s and they do work well together.
  10. This reminds me of another Irish product that need’s patience… https://youtu.be/B5UedfCySQk
  11. Looking forward to meeting the team at London Festival of Railway Modelling next weekend. At the risk of sounding needy are there any more new announcements due?
  12. My wallet has just breathed a sigh of relief - no yellow ones (yet?)
  13. Just a thought, has anyone checked the validity of the email? Could it be a phishing attempt?
  14. Going from Brighton to Tonbridge today. Saw it just north of Wivelsfield
  15. Looks like it’s working again now
  16. Anyone else having problems accessing the Hornby website? HTTPS://uk.Hornby.com (typed in and from Google) is redirecting to https://www.hornbyhobbies.co.uk/login where I’m presented with a sign in page…
  17. The purple looks great - hope there are some cancellations - could be an opportunity to get one.
  18. So I haven’t actually started building my layout yet, but there will be a lot of rule 1 going on when it comes to the era… So far I have: KUA 10 Yeoman tipplers 10 Arc tipplers Then on preorder I have: 2x DRS 37’s 97301 2x Deltics (one blue, one green) 2x 92’s (Caledonian Sleeper, Kernow’s Stobart Rail) Fort William Mk5 sleeper pack 4x Network Southeast Mk2’s 9x HDA’s (3 packs) PFA Dragon pack PFA Nuclear Half height Container pack 3x packs HYA with GBRf branding wow that list was longer than I thought - think I have an addiction. I think I’d better make a start on making some baseboards, going to need something to run them on.
  19. Anyone else notice the full page Rapido advert for Titfield Thunderbolt in this months Model Rail? Very colourful, styled like a movie poster - not subtle. Also in the news section there’s a couple of lines for the Hornby version but nearly 3/4 page for the Rapido one a couple of pages later.
  20. Don’t forget Hornby have announced a powered version of NDM 49002 as part of their 2022 range, see R30105.
  21. not the best photo - but I was trying to balance phone and the power leads. (The partially built box file canal scene is the only tack I’ve got access to at moment). I like the detail
  22. DPD Delivered mine ahead of schedule as well, can confirm there is 1 motorised NDM and one dummy NDM.
  23. Liking the nameplates - I’ve always tried to avoid them in the past mainly as I’m worried about messing up the loco paintwork or getting them wonky. (I’ve got quite chunky fingers, not great at positioning small details) Has any one got any tips or advice on how to apply them? So what type of glue to use? How to get them aligned properly?
  24. I’ve just been trying to find some examples to help explain it better. I’m assuming your layout is something like this (maybe without the extra siding), when the points are are set for each loop they are independent of each other and can have a train on each controlled by separate controllers. When the points are set to allow the loco to cross to the other loop either controller can power the loco but you cannot have both controller providing power at the same time. It must be one or the other. This only works if you’re using regular fishplates between the points. Hope that helps
