  1. Not F1 related but thought motorsport fans would like the view from Druids this morning… Truck racing and fireworks at Brands Hatch today - championship went down to 2 points gap going into the last race.
  2. I know our local recycling centre in Mid Sussex takes the, as other have said they have a cage where they are stored. Just had a quick Google of Lancashire CC it shows they accept them - https://www.lancashire.gov.uk/waste-and-recycling/types-of-waste-our-recycling-centres-accept/
  3. Just placed my order for the Stobart one, on the Kernow website it does say payment will be taken straight away but refunded in 3 days if the order will take more than 28 days and goes onto back order. Just adding some suitable wagons to my Christmas list… Updated to this - just checking my emails and I’ve got the receipt for the refund come through as well as the original order confirmation
  4. Got a few from just north of Wivelsfield this morning
  5. Fake News - Just seen a tweet pop up saying Lewis won’t be driving this weekend as he has broken his ankles on an NBA court. Trying to find the story on mainstream media to confirm it.
  6. So, my son (14) usually catches the bus home from school but today I decided to pick him up instead and I’m glad he did. The road and school gate were surrounded by anti vaxers protesting about giving children the jab. The police and staff were doing their best to support the students leaving school but there is no excuse to harass and intimidate school children.
  7. Thanks Mike, you’re right not quite what I’m looking for but good to see someone has done it. Should have said I’m looking for OO concrete sleepers.
  8. Are there any manufacturers that produce pre/weathered track? Not sure I have the patience or skill to paint the rails and sleeper before ballasting.
  9. Congratulations for getting "Best OO Carriage or Wagon of The Year" for these, and for getting Manufacturer of the year as well.
  10. Just double checked the Sky planner for next weekend looks like the Sky highlights show is on Sky Showcase now it’s still channel 106. Start at 5:30pm, not sure what package you need to be able to access it though.
  11. Was good to get back to an exhibition again, lot of inspiration for my layout now. - really need to empty the garage. Highlights for me were New Kensal Green, Dragonby, Oak Road, ‘Making Track WCML’ and seeing the Accurascale samples.
  12. I know it’s speculation but do you think if Lando had pitted that Lewis would have chanced it and stayed out?
  13. Paul - TBH you have a valid point so no need to apologise - change is happening quickly with EV’s, what will happen to those first released models will they be less desirable on the used car market? Does that make them cheaper to buy as they don’t have the right bells and whistles? Comparing it to the ICE market is there really much of difference between an ML or a GLE, I guess only time will tell in the long run.
  14. Exactly that, obviously depends on the used car market at the time.
  15. It is, I had a CLS 350 before this one - the GLE is less fuel efficient particularly in towns, but as you say it does have the 4x4 drive train to deal with. On average they both do similar mileage per tank, but the tank in the GLE is 10 litres larger. The GLE does have AdBlue post combustion treatment so I guessing that must help. I do think we’ve arrived at the tipping point now, I know my next car (in 3-4 years time) will not be ICE or hybrid - it will be battery powered, probably an EQC that’s rolling off the production line now as we speak, and I’m sure I’m not alone in that thought process. I just hope that the infrastructure also improves, the range is acceptable now for most day trips, but not everyone can get home to charge overnight, you will still need to charge during your journey. I don’t mind that it might take half hour to charge, this fits with having a break in the journey to get a coffee, but there needs to be enough chargers, I just don’t want to wait for some else to finish their coffee before being able to plug my car in.
  16. I wouldn’t be sure about that, I drive a 5 year old Mercedes GLE, it has a 3 litre Diesel engine - not the greenest vehicle I know but it is comfortable and eats up motorway miles with ease. I needed to drive through the new Birmingham clean air zone in rush hour a couple of weeks ago and was shocked when I logged on to the website to pay the charge, there was no charge to pay apparently my car is clean enough not to pay a penalty. TBH I don’t understand why, I would have expected it to be at the top of the list of vehicles they want to ban. It just sends out a really confusing message.
  17. Hi @Accurascale Fran Looking forward to getting these, are they still on track for q4? Thanks Stuart
  18. When I saw Lewis trying to reverse realtime as the accident occurred I thought it looked like he was trying to make space to get out of the car as the top of the halo was under the engine/gearbox.
  19. Shoeys all round on the podium
  20. Thought the post race interview with Horner was interesting - he actually sounded quite pragmatic saying he could see the argument from both sides so should be a racing incident - I took that as he thinks it was Max’s fault but couldn’t actually say that.
  21. Slow motion replay looks quite scary as his car comes down, good to see safety features work
  22. Thanks for the real world feedback on hotels, I don’t have an EV at the moment but I suspect my next car in 3-4 year time will be. What made me ask the question was that I was reading an article saying Premier Inn saying they’re deploying 1,000 chargers to 300 hotels over the next 3 years, that only 3ish per hotel, I don’t think that’s a lot. I think it’s going to need people to have a change in mindset on how they use them at hotels, I know when I get to the room the last thing I’ll be thinking of is moving the car especially if I’ve arrived late in the evening, and I don’t think I’m alone thinking that. I guess from the hotel point of view there is a cost to upgrading their sites, so it will be demand from their customers that will drive the speed that they change. Maybe there are other business opportunities out there, I’m thinking long term airport parking, We’ll make sure your car is returned fully charged for an extra £30 as an example.
  23. Is there an etiquette to charging at hotels? Can you leave your car plugged in overnight as an example, does this mean that hotels will need to add a lot more charging points as surely it will get to a point where most of the cars in the car park will need charging.
