  1. Hello Combe Martin Right with you on that request!🙂 Within The 00 Wishlist Poll 2022, we listed six Milk Tank Wagons and two Milk Tank Trucks with Trailer. Three came in Top 50; three were High Polling; and two were high up the Middle Polling segment. Brian (on behalf of The 00 Poll Team)
  2. Hello Steve One other that I have seen is FL60LHR - but that was on a 'common or garden' car and I suspect the owner wasn't aware of any aviation context.🙂 Brian
  3. Hello JS Bach Modern UK numberplates are configured 'Letter/Numbers/Letters'. I thought it was amusing that 777 might be Boeing 777 and DXB is airport code for Dubai. Might be pure coincidence but I wonder if the owner is a pilot or plane spotter!🙂 Brian
  4. Hello everyone Congratulations to Rails and Dapol on this announcement. We wish them every success with the project. The Class entered The 00 Wishlist Poll in 2019 and came in very High Polling and only just outside The Top 50. When we next ran in 2022, the Class climbed up and went into The Top 50. Brian (on behalf of The 00 Poll Team)
  5. Hello everyone If you go to the 'Events' heading on UK Model Shops, you will find a box in the top right hand corner where you can sign up to get the Newsletter every Friday. This gives details of exhibitions for the forthcoming two weeks. It's free and you can 'unsubscribe' anytime. Brian (I have known the owner, Adrian Hall, for many years but have no other connection than 'satisfied customer')
  6. Hello everyone Many thanks to Rapido for making the SR 8-plank Opens - they look very good and run even better! They feel as though they are sturdy enough to withstand the occasional accidental drop or knock but still retain very good detail. I have four BR Grey examples in a mix of diagrams and running numbers. I look forward to the GWR Opens and Vans! Brian
  7. Many thanks to Rapido for making these vehicles - they look very good and run even better! They feel as though they are sturdy enough to withstand the occasional accidental drop or knock but still retain very good detail. I have four examples in a mix of diagrams and running numbers. Brian
  8. Hello Tony The B2 was listed as: LNER Gresley B2 4-6-0 (in range 61603-61671, but many are B17). So, yes, it was the Thompson version. The purpose of The Poll is: To provide railway modellers and collectors with an easy way of indicating to companies making or commissioning 00 ready-to-run models which models they would realistically buy if made at some time in the future. Our cut-off date was the end of 2005 - so, anything made before that went it, whether still in maker ranges or not. Items made from 2006 did not go in. Having a specific cut-off dates precludes us making selective judgments of quality as to what to list. Brian (on behalf of The 00 Poll Team)
  9. Hello Tony and everyone In a post or two above, Tony commented: Speaking with my old teacher training chum yesterday, we mused over whether anyone what produce the A1/1 RTR. I thought not, but who knows? I don't claim that The 00 Wishlist Poll is in anyway a crystal ball of what will or will not be made, but it's interesting to note the bottom eight positions out of 42 LNER locos listed (with number of votes shown to the left): 61 - B2 4-6-0 58 - GNR A1 4-6-2 58 - LNER A1/1 4-6-2 58 - LNER A4 4-6-2 56 - GCR 04/8 2-8-0 52 - LNER A1 4-6-2 52 - LNER A2/1 4-6-2 (60507-60510) 43 - LNER A3 4-6-2 Brian (on behalf of The 00 Poll Team)
  10. Hello everyone My Diags.O33 and O59 arrived yesterday, and fine models they are too! Certainly a quality product! 👍 Did someone say they had trouble going round first radius? I tested mine on my reverse loops (in my hidden sidings) and all was fine. As noted by me in an earlier post, I like to keep the weight of rolling stock to a bare minimum. My first job with any new vehicle is to take the body off and - hopefully - remove the ballast weight. More easily said than done with some stock! I'm pleased to say that the bodies popped off very easily (but not too easily). The internal floor seems to have been dab glued to the ballast weight. I wedged a thin screwdriver under the floor and gingerly lifted it - millimetre by millimetre. I found it helped to run a scalpel along the edges first. Once the floor was up, the same technique was used for the dab glued ballast weight. The bodies snapped back easily - although it might be advisable to help them stay put with a dab of glue if you are likely to be handling them regularly. Overall, this reduced each van by 60 grams - a good saving on a rake. I look forward to the Outside Framed version! Brian
  11. Hello Nick A great pleasure to meet up with you, too! All the best and I look forward to following your progress. Brian
  12. Many thanks to all for a very enjoyable show! Brian
  13. Hello everyone Similar to above, according to Flightradar, the 07.15 LHR to Thessaloniki this morning was operated by a Finnair A320 as Speedbird 772. Brian
  14. Hello Glenn It has been in The Top 50 of The 00 Wishlist Poll since 2013 and was the overall top steam loco in 2022. Brian (on behalf of The 00 Poll Team)
  15. Hello again Reading the (trustworthy) reports, it seems that the Tower gave an incorrect QNH which the crew accepted. It seems that - on the first approach - the crew realised something was amiss and instigated a go-around. They missed the ground by about 6 feet! Brian
  16. Hello everyone Many congratulations to Dapol and Rails on this announcement! The vehicle has been consistently Middle or High Polling in The 00 Wishlist Poll over the years. We wish Dapol and Rails every success with the project. Brian (on behalf of The 00 Poll Team)
  17. Hello John As noted, the video should be taken in context with the actual incident which was in total cloud cover. Alarms went off in the Tower and these were missed apparently. Brian
  18. Hello Lochgorm It should also be taken in context with the initial report of the actual incident at Paris. Brian
  19. Hello Lochgorm It was part of a wider CAA email which also contained the items below. Brian Safety Notice 2023/003 CAA Safety Files podcast (Episode 6)
  20. Hello everyone Interesting short video from CAA. Brian https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mW1QLgEg-gw
  21. Post deleted - trying to sort out link! Brian
  22. Hello again John & Phil 1961 Loco Rosters show a WC weekdays. On Saturdays, the loco returned from Axminster, went to Exmouth Junction shed, then worked the Surbiton-Okehampton Car Carrier forward from Exeter Central. Brian
  23. Hello John & Phil This might be one of things that happened on the railway to suit local circumstances. I have looked into the workings for many years but have never found a definitive answer. I can't find anything in the 1960 Loco Rosters. In 1954, the weekdays train was booked for a Std Class 3 2-6-2T and a WC on Saturdays. I know the photo Phil is looking at. Brian
