West Kirby Town: narrow gauge is coming to town.
Barnaby replied to Dmudriver's topic in 7mm+ modelling
I have to agree with Hroth your work ethic is very neat indeed. If I had the time I'd like to have a go with those point kits but for my enjoyment i need to follow RTR and only do occasional build stuff. My main interest is to PLAY trains and shunt about. Will you be appearing on the next G0G virtual show??? Looking very good Rod. Regards -

Excellent work and kits there Rod. The kits do look very good indeed. I like the solution to the "add in" short straight pieces of track you had with the Peco points. By just extending the stock rails of the new point and leaving the sleepers in place of the old mini straights minus their rails will minimise the track disruption albeit somewhat tricky still to lay. It will certainly be interesting and illuminating to watch the build continue. Best EDIT Ahhh just spotted that you have removed all the sleepers including the mini straights and not done as I stated above. As SimonD said i'm also not sure what is going on with LFC either. -

Rob's 7mm Rolling Stock Workbench
Barnaby replied to Rob Pulham's topic in Kitbuilding & Scratchbuilding
Rob, you may have temporarily lost your mojo but your skill is permanent for all to see. Beautiful work. Best -
"Hart" the model is looking good Mike. Best wishes for your "heart" health to be looking good also Mike. I have to medicate and suffer regular check on my heart too, I feel fine in myself and don't suffer any difficulties with the physical side of life but the regular checks have revealed that i need to tweak some of my medication and try to up my exercise some more. Take care. Regards

Hello Andy, the new video format was interesting. I did like the new intro & endo making a good bookend to the middle composition of the railway. I also would like the music to be louder with fade up and fade out . I would prefer your comments to be from reference to your days "spotting" notes made on the day rather than the I wonder what happens next comments. eg in the title sequence show that the voice over was added later from your ref notes made on the day. Comments like I wonder if the 08 is going to move oh yes it is are not necessary because as a viewer I can hear the locos engine, horn etc and see the movements. let me be surprised. It is a difficult balance to achieve but maybe a little less commentary and leave a little more for the viewer to see and hear could generate further discussions. All in all an enjoyable watch of a days working at SMS leaving me anticipating the next Video. I do like the suggested ZOOM idea too and maybe a GoPro camera on a head band or a camera wagon........................ Best That does read a little cold which is not how I mean it to be but be more as a suggestion.

Yes that looks better Rob the structures are settling back into the scene really nicely now. Progress is being made unlike myself who constantly starts then jumps to another project and fails to complete that too but as I now have 3 part built projects on our dinning room table plus various plans for my next mini-micro layout and a wife who wants the table back. i shall have to extract my digit and get a move on. You wouldn't think I had a 20ft x 12ft shed fully wired, insulated, heated with a work bench and full of tools and................ yes you've guessed it a 2/3 built layout. Best

Rod can you refresh my mind why it was that you want to redo perfectly sound and working point work, Do you intend to redo all the point work or just the 4 mentioned? You've definitely got your mojo working again then. Best -
Getting better and better Paul with lots of interest for the operator. Best

Sunny in Bewdley Worcestershire by the racing river Severn alongside the 7 Valley Railway. Forgot to post that yesterday. oooops apparently I did post it yesterday, thanks Joner for the heads up I'll leave it here to make sense with the following posts. Laying down the grass video was a very good watch, looking forward to #2. Best

Looking good Phil but did you ever get around to drawing up the track plan of what you have laid? I do like to peruse track plans while having a "T" break in my modelling shed. Best
